Who doesn't love a little bargain addition to their wardrobe....
Now I should pre-empt this by saying it's not a sponsored post - I haven't been asked to post a blog on it at all. BUT I have been involved with a paid partnership with Tu Clothing over on Instagram and for their channels - as a disclaimer.
However the jeans that I chose for the project are so good and SUCH amazing value - they are honestly too good not to share.
I try on a lot of jeans. A LOT of jeans. And some are very good. They are also usually over £100. If not over £200.
So when I come across two styles which cost £15 each, which I would happily wear and recommend - well, it would be rude not to tell you about them. As that's pretty much what this blog is all about.
This isn't a long blogpost but it's one that - if you're looking for a new pair of jeans for the new season - you'll thank me for.
First up - the black straight leg jeans. More pics of these over on Instagram as a saved story for Tu Denim if you'd like to see them "in action".
My tip for these is to wear them on the short side so that you get the teensiest kick flare on the bottom. Absolutely perfect for Autumn and for into Spring. Ideal with trainers, loafers or ballet flats. I am taking a regular length (they come in three leg lengths) in these pics - I also have the short which shows a bit more ankle. (I bought the latter as I loved them so much!). If you are more diminutive and the short would be long, then can I suggest a quick trip to the seamstress as - because they are a straight leg they are super easy to alter and make shorter. Or simply tum them up with an instant home made (not sewn!) cuff.
They are also true to size. I would perhaps say if you're between sizes to size down. I am a big 10 and these are a perfect 10 fit on me.
And the blue version.... again £15
Then there are the skinnies. A true jet black. Great rise, not too high but enough to hide the muffin but not the spray on variety that makes your legs look like a sausage about to burst its skin.
I also saw these online but not in store - they look pretty darn fabulous too.
I have had messages from people over on Insta, saying that all the jeans they've tried in Tu Clothing are great. I will admit these are the first that I've tried but I am SUPER impressed. I was asked by Tu (not to blog but to do images for Insta) to look at the campaign as they saw how much I wore my Tu denim jacket (that I had bought myself last year - not a gift and not part of any partnership).
I know it is a nightmare trying to buy jeans and they can often be expensive mistakes. So thought I would just throw in a little extra blog and hope that they help someone!
Quick pic from today (fear not, I do have ALL the tales of London Fashion Week coming - hopefully tomorrow - I have a 5 hour train journey from London to Edinburgh where I shall be writing writing writing...! Oh and it's stuff you can actually WEAR!).
Jacket - hush (gift 5yrs ago)
Sunglasses - Chloe from Very Exclusive (ss17)
Shoes - Valentino from Bicester (from paid partnership current)
Bag - Loewe from Matches (ss18)
Belt - Dodo Bar Or from My Theresa (sale ss18)
Once again, I have been SUPER slack on the blogging front and for that I am truly sorry. But September is probably the busiest month of the year - both family wise and work wise. It's good old London Fashion Week (I absolutely do NOT do every day - I would actually be dead and/or divorced), it's my daughter's birthday (and her expectation levels are only one slight step below live unicorns...) and it's the launch of all new season gorgeousness from everyone.
Speaking of new season - I shall be talking ALL things Autumn/Winter on October 2nd at Chewton Glen with Celtic & Co over a rather marvellous lunch. Would be lovely to meet any of you who are local...
Tomorrow, I shall be at the London Fashion Week Festival in the morning and then HOPEFULLY getting the train to Edinburgh for an event with The Pool and Hush - just sitting here on weather watch (hope all our friends in the north and all friend and family in Ireland are ok....).
But the train journey means I have time to write and I have so much to share! Hope you've been well...
Jeans are the worst thing to buy!
ReplyDeleteI hate the way some get baggy after relatively little wear. I'm thinking ones with less stretch are the way to go (I'm talking straight leg), so does anyone know the magic formula as far as the amount of elastine goes!
You always look fab I have followed you for years (first comment!) shy! And have spent plenty of money in the process buying the goods you introduced me to me and em and I love their looks.
ReplyDeleteCould you also let me know the breed of your dog he is adorable
