Dolly's called...

… she wants her boots back. And I need to also say a HUGE apology for not having been around for a couple of weeks. With so many things going on and a loss of the blogging mojo (the first time in over EIGHT years!) I am so sorry but I thought it better to take a hiatus as opposed to just writing when my heart isn't in it. You would be able to tell. But I am now back in the room and taking all the inspiration from Dolly and stealing her boots...
And she's not getting them back. Hell to the no, these boots are staying. I have loved cowboy boots since I was about 6 yrs old and my dad bought me back a turquoise, white and tan pair from the US. I remember loving them more than anything else I had ever owned.
In fact, I would wear them now. I would absolutely love to wear them now. So I'm on a hunt.
Cowboy boots are here to stay, of that I can assure you.
They're super easy to wear, they're ridiculously comfortable and they go with pretty much everything.
Breaking you in gently with these from Pretty Little Thing at ASOS. No they're not leather but if you're not sure about them, you may want to try these on and not invest in a more expensive pair. I love the fact that they're not too loose on the leg. That's the main difference between this season's versions and the more traditional Western boot - they're more welly like on the calf.
Pretty Little Thing £45
Although I say that... look what I found. Real suede and for the same price. Especially perfect if you like higher boots (I am feeling exceptionally smug with this find).
Token in Tan at Kurt Geiger was £149 now £49
Plain black faux suede in the sale at ASOS. And actually, these are a fab idea for an entry level if you're not too sure. They're also great if you're more petite as they don't go too high up the leg.
ASOS DESIGN Annie Western Boots were £35 now £26
Personally though, these would be my Annie boot of choice from ASOS DESIGN. Sequin. Oh hello.
Annie Silver Sequin Western Boots from ASOS £33
Actually speaking of bargain boots. May I present a selection from Ego Shoes. I should say that I have absolutely NO idea what sort of quality these are - I have never heard of them before I started my online research (still can't find a turquoise pair like I used to have...).
Camille Western Boots from Ego Shoes were £49.99 now £24.99
And then these are very similar to the ones I have from Zara. Mine were leather and were £129.99 - these are a lot cheaper but of course for that price, are synthetic.
Mixer Snake Print Detail Boots from Ego Shoes £42.99
Or there are these ones which are called the Hartley also from Ego Shoes £42.99
And similar from Stradivarius at ASOS £49.99
Not many navy versions about.. if you're looking for a navy, look no further.
ASOS DESIGN Raglan Navy Sock Boots £35
However knowing that I love them, I would invest in these from ASOS - assuming they're as tight on the calf as they look here.
ASOS DESIGN Arkansas leather cowboy boots £75
I prefer the plain black but I'm guessing that many will love the snakeprint versions. Although as I'm typing and looking at the pics, I may be talking myself into these...
ASOS DESIGN Arkansas leather cowboy boots £75
Similar at Topshop...
HOWDIE Western boots from Topshop £89
And in other shades - on reflection I prefer these to the snakeskin.
HOWDIE Western boots from Topshop £89
These however - THESE are the ones that I think have my name on them...
Mario Western Boots from Topshop £89
And in the black £89
And finishing with a slightly random but VERY very wearable version. Arguably the most versatile version here...
Leia Boots from Steve Madden were £145 now £72.50
Bargain of the day though has to be these Mission Boots from Topshop which were £65 and are now £20 (although not leather - I think expensive at £65 for not leather!).
And just to show you how I wear them with a dress - I think it's pretty obvious to fling them on with jeans and a jumper and blazer or trench but for now - for a dressier look, with maxi and midi dresses - instead of heels for a night out, the cowboy boot is PERFECT.
Dress - Zara (current)
Boots - Zara (aw18)
I am now away on hols with my boys (daughter skiing!) and so I have so much time to myself and with them - I can feel my mojo making its way back to me. WHOOP!

ReplyDeleteWelcome back! I totally agree, better to take a break than to carry on regardless.
ReplyDeleteI have dipped my toe with a pair of navy snakeskin boots from Gestuz last spring, I've worn them so much they need re-heeling. They're similar to the toppers ones, but with a little bit of studding detail - must say navy boots with a little edge are like the proverbial rocking horse poo! The pointiness off the toe is great for lengthening my not so long legs!
Oops! That should say "of" not "off"!
DeleteLoved this thank tog! Would love to see a blog on white boots please x
