Summer dresses that you need now.

Yes I go away for ages and then the second thing I write about is something that I'm well known for banging on about.

Oh of course it's a dress.  Summer has arrived and it looks like it's here to stay and genuinely, the easiest thing to throw on for every day is a good old frock.

Why are these so sincerely awesome?  Because they're easy.  You can just throw them on and go.  There's no need to find something to match - they're a whole outfit on their own.  Saves on the brain power that I personally do not have spare when trying to get dressed and get everyone out of the house in the morning.

I have a stash of dresses that work for every occasion.  Ones that I can just fling on for the school run or supermarket with slip on sandals and a denim jacket.  But ones that you can dress up with a pair of boots, loafers, blazer or a biker.  They're ideal for every day in the Summer and simply perfect to pack in a suitcase for holiday.

Plus they stand the test of time.  These are dresses that you will be wearing in many years time.

Oh and did I also mention that most of them, you can wear a bra with?  RESULT.  And a proper bra at that... not a strapless one which is about as much as a chocolate teapot in my opinion!

Striped Relaxed Maxi Dress from M&S was £55 now £27.50

Possibly my favourite from Dorothy Perkins now only £33.75 from £45

Or black... Black Tiered Lace Maxi Dress from Mint Velvet - a steal now at £59.99 reduced from £119

Navy at Warehouse Aloha Dress £39

This one would be so easy to dress up and down. It's also the shape that you could wear a jumper over so perfect for the Autumn as well.

Jolie Moi Star Print Belted Dress was £72 now £59

YAS at ASOS has some great dresses which are mostly cotton.  And can be worn with a bra.

YAS tie shoulder check midi dress £65

YAS Stripe tiered maxi dress was £80 now £56

And the tall version which is now £48 down from £80

One that's slightly more feminine... would work with heels but would work just as well with trainers and a denim jacket.

YAS Soft Tiered Dress was £130 now £52

Another gem at ASOS - would have been perfect for Wimbledon.

ASOS DESIGN seersucker dress with shoulder ties £32

And yet another...

ASOS DESIGN Button through smock maxi dress £32

Classic Black which would work for every occasion at Warehouse.

V Neck Crepe Maxi Dress £49

HUGELY elegant in the tan... again £49 from Warehouse.  This would work perfectly well with black accessories but I have to say - a little bit of leopard would go down very well.

V Neck Crepe Maxi Dress from Warehouse £49

Because not everyone loves a full dress....

Pique button through dress from Warehouse £39

Or the same dress in the khaki, also £39 from Warehouse.

And here's an example of such a dress that I wore out last week.

Dress - M&S (bought although I do work with them)
Jacket and sandals - Maje (current)
Bag - YSL from Selfridges (aw18)
Sunglasses - Accessorize (ss19)

So next time I will be back with more dresses I think - or maybe I'll do skirts.  Or Summer knits... or clogs.. yes you read that right... clogs!  My current favourite Summer pair of shoes!
