Pretend you didn't see me.

As if I say it really quickly and just do a really short post, then maybe I can gloss over the fact that I have bought yet another scarf.  GAH.

Ok so in my defence (yawn yawn - it's woeful isn't it but still justification always makes it the teensiest bit better) I had gone up to London with RR1 for part of her Christmas present - a trip out for dinner and then to Matilda the Musical (well done Santa - sending it early as well.  Check him out) and had ridiculously underdressed.  I was freezing.  She was fine (even though she had less clothes on than me but refused all offer of new purchases - she clearly can't actually be related to me or has been indoctrinated by The Husband - go figure) but I couldn't resist the lure of a couple of shops in Covent Garden and when I saw this scarf, it just sort of all made perfect sense.

I had been going to put a warm black and beige scarf on my Christmas list and so basically I've done The Husband a favour by purchasing one (that was a rather bargainous £19.99).

And here it is - the pics don't remotely do it justice - hopefully you can get a better idea from it from the pic today at the bottom of the post.  You can't tell that it's almost two scarves with the reverse being a neutral colour that looks lovely as well.

It's something you'll be seeing a fare bit of in the coming weeks as it's set to get colder.  I absolutely love it.  With this and my M&S wonder that I wore on Saturday, I'm super chuffed with my cheaper scarf hauls this season.  So the spending ban is clearly going spectacularly badly but on the upside had I not been on a "ban" I would probably have spent a lot more on them as I usually do.

Skull Print scarf from Zara

I have seen a fair few scarves on my travels so I am going to do a scarf post in the next week - an ideal stocking filler or the perfect treat for yourself if you're feeling a bit Christmas shopped out (me me me)

At this point I will apologise for not having been around since last Tuesday.  Had a manic day on Wednesday on my night out with my daughter in London (hence photo of me looking exhausted as it was 11.15pm when we got back and we'd been out since just after school - our clock is an hour fast!).  And since then, we've had the news that RR2, aged 6, has been diagnosed with ADHD.  Which is a complete relief if I'm honest, but has meant I've spent every free minute googling within an inch of my life to try and understand how best we can help him going forwards from here (if anyone has any useful info that they would like to share, I would be more than grateful for any tips or pointers.  My email is doesmybumlook40@gmail.com)

But back on track with a round up of what I've been wearing the past couple of days.  Oh and very excitingly I managed to get my Gok dress from Sainsburys.  Huzzah!  To be debuted on either Friday or Saturday night (maybe both, we'll see!)

Friday - Start of Christmas for me - the annual traditional putting up of the Christmas decorations at a fantastic local restaurant, The Vine, which is owned by a dear friend of mine.  A great way to spend a morning/lunch!  In the evening we went to a great St Andrew's party which I totally didn't have time to take my photo for.  However I shall probably be rerunning the outfit this Frid/Sat - the night I don't wear my Sainsburys one.  It was the Patrizia Pepe black ruched dress and will definitely be coming out again and again as I love it.

  1. Great new scarf Kat - looks way nicer on you than in the Zara photos…do you think they've employed the M&S photographer? I can't help you with ADHD but just wanted to send a virtual hug and I hope that having your diagnosis means you can get lots of help and support for your wee man Avril x

  5. Looking lovely - loving the poncho look! I remember the relief getting my 7 year old son diagnosed as being dyslexic (as opposed to just "slow"), so all the best for your lad with the ADHD. See what you mean about the Zara scarf almost being a two-in-one!

  7. I'm with you on the scarf thing. Just one question how do you store them. Sometimes I think of one that would have been perfect with an outfit after the event because I can't find it in the scarf landfill! Love how you wear them. X

I must start posting some, maybe my lil fashionista 11yr old might take d pics, my hubby will think i am losing d plot! I wud love that scarf, but at d mo, have a back problem, nedding doc visits and physio, so shopping ban on for me too! But that scarf...no siobhan..no!

Hope you doing ok with RR2 daiagnosis. I know there is support these days, and its not taboo subject either. Just look at Michael Phelps! Knowledge is good, but too much google can bamboozle u. Seek out organisations that can get u on d right road to suport RR2 AND u and family too.
My daughter (11)dyslexic, she still hates reading aloud but getting support in school and loves art. We got her into art classes to help her confidence. Concentrate on d positives. funny recent story: Her brother (8) got d phrase 'dyslexic' mixed up with 'sexy' and told her she was sexy, she had a fit! And he cud not understand why!!!
If i think of any tips, supports, i will email u.

    Look forward to your posts:-)
