Let the discount codes begin!

Rubs hands together with glee!  Oh I love a good 20% off.  Now to be fair, this one has been around since the middle of August - obviously the shopping ban made me rather blinkered - but it lasts till September 8th on full price items from... ASOS Collection.  I assume therefore it doesn't mean branded things which is a bit of a blow but to be fair, ASOS themselves have some great things.  The code is ASOSGLAMOUR (yes it is from Glamour Magazine)

I'm still loving my lilac jumper I bought from the men's section earlier in the year (with another code I seem to remember - yes, I do try and buy absolutely everything with a discount voucher if I can) and I may have the bargain striped jumper from yesterday being delivered (I paid more for postage from bleeding Sports Direct for the children's trainers than I did for the top!  Lord, I want to cry when I add up how much I have spent on - horrid - shoes for them all for the start of term.... and NONE for me.  It's criminal, I tell you, criminal.  There should be a law that kids have to wear crocs till they're 14.  Only crocs.  My delightful offspring refuse to wear them at all now.  To be fair, I do sort of see their point...... But they're so practical!)

But on to much cheerier things, ASOS is fab.  I have loved them for donkey's years - they really have gone from strength to strength and no I've never have any contact with them - I write about them as I think their stuff is ace, from their own brand to a host of others and their next day delivery which is just marvellous.  I pay for their premium thingymajig, I want to say it's a tenner a year but it's definitely worth it.  I am clearly beyond ancient for their average demographic I would have thought, but who cares - I love their stuff.

I do tend to order a lot (my local chap at the Collect plus place where you can take your returns does tend to look at me like he hates me when I come in laden down with boxes.  Can't possibly think why....) as it is so so easy to return it.  Nothing better than being able to try things on in the comfort of your own home.

So here is a quick round up of things that I would buy.  Things that are on my wish list - the jury is still out which styles I shall hop onto but at the moment, there are number of ways which I could jump.

Starting with trousers - I love these wide leg ones.  I used to wear these when I worked in London, a gazillion and one years ago.  I wore them with a fitted shirt and Tod's loafers (they were trendy years ago... honest guv).  And a little fitted blazer or trench coat (yes I may have had a full on check Burberry but I swear on my life that it was before Daniella Westbrook and Gazza embraced it as their uniform.  I still have it, praying for that day when it becomes acceptable to wear it.  Alas, I think hell freezing over may come sooner.)

ASOS Wide Leg Trousers in navy with piping £38

Have to say, I know I did stripes yesterday but I also love love love this top in black and white.

ASOS Striped Top in Black and white £16

A black blazer is an absolute must for me and a loose fitting one I think is on the cards for this season.  This one looks ideal for during the day with jeans but also perfect for over a short dress at night time or capri pants and a blouse.

ASOS Longline Crepe Blazer £50

Thinking colder now and I love an oversized coat.  Yes I do still have my eye on the Zara one (no I haven't bought it yet, someone send me a medal immediately) and I swore I wouldn't do a pink coat but I love the whole look of this outfit.

ASOS Cocoon coat in pink £85.  A great price if you then take into consideration 20% off that.

Another massive trend this season is fur.  I'm not sure I'll be partaking, I do like it, I really do but I don't love it.  Not love love it.  And there are so many other trends that I heart with every inch of my small beating thing. (I have a thing for check.  It's wrong but I'm verging on obsessed....)

However, a gilet is a whole different cup of tea and this I can do a big tick to as I already have one.  It's in storage though and I had actually completely forgotten about it till I saw this pic and thought - ooh lovely (small voice in back of head screaming - err don't you have one like that? - darn you small voice)

ASOS Vintage Long fur gilet £60

As much as I'm not going to do one (oh yeah yeah famous last words, we all know I eat humble pie like chocolate), if I was going to, then this is the sort of thing that I'd like.

ASOS Vintage Faux Fur Coat in camel £65

Or in the grey £65

Whilst we're on this subject of all things not very practical then these hit the nail on the head but hell, they're lovely.   And pointed boots feature very highly on my boot agenda this season.

ASOS Epidemic Ankle Boots in khaki £60

Now fear not, I shall be covering all things practical when it comes to coats and boots shortly - can I point out this is due to necessity as opposed to lust.  I shall be thinking waterproof and warm and trying not to end up in Millets.

But for starters, this looks pretty darn good.  I am always so surprised that so many parkas aren't waterproof (oh my heavens, did I actually type that?)

ASOS Parka in Nylon with contrast faux fur lining hood £75  Oh and one thing I did with mine and I've done with every parka I've ever tried on is size up.  Yes, I am tall but I do think these look better oversized as opposed to slim fitting and chances are if I'm wearing mine then I'm going somewhere cold and so need either lots of layers or a thick jumper on.  Which you won't necessarily be wearing when you try it on.  Phew.

Looking at the above pic, it would be remiss of me not to mention my still beloved Skater shoes.  These are definitely going to be working for me into the Autumn (have laid mine out to wear tomorrow - total saddo that I am).  I really do feel more comfortable in them than I do the New Balance trainers.  Don't ask me why, I've tried to work it out - maybe it's because they're slightly less utilitarian looking, maybe because they don't look as fussy, maybe it's because I am more than averse to exercise and the NB's have to me a slight whiff of jogging about them - who knows but suffice to say, I am still very much in love with both my Next pairs.

But there are bargains to be had for sure at ASOS.

The ones that I have had more wear out of are definitely the leopard print ones.  Don't forget to remember the 20% discount on top of the prices.

ASOS Dockland Plimsolls £20

They also do these in a lesser found monochrome leopard print £20

The ones above are just fabric but they do also have a leather ponyskin effect which would be my choice.  At £45 this makes the discount definitely worthwhile.

ASOS Daisy Pony Effect Plimsolls £45

But.  Oh but but but but - how pretty are the pink?  Oh be still my beating skater heart.

ASOS Pony Effect plimsolls in pink leopard £45  Love these with all black.  Or black and camel.  Or grey.  Or anything, just please be in my wardrobe.

I'm going to have to go now as I can't stop thinking about those pink leopard print shoes.  How well would they work with my outfit from yesterday?

Navy and white striped top - Whistles
Navy cocoon coat - H&M
Turned up jeans - Rock & Republic
Patent sliders - Zara
Black Faridah Hobo bag - Marc by Marc Jacobs.

Hair - a dutch braid, courtesy of my delicious 9yr old who is obsessed with using me as a human Girl's World.  Which I have to say I don't mind as there is no way I could do anything like this myself and it beats cooking with her.  To say I have minimal patience is a teensy, tiny understatement... but to sit and let her play with my hair, I have all the time in the world.  She's over the moon about it and I have to say I'm quite smitten with my new array of plaits.

RIght, I need to go and hide my credit card so I don't order those shoes.  Having said that, my children all go back to school tomorrow so maybe I should treat myself for making it through the holidays.  Although I'm out for lunch with friends tomorrow which is possibly treat enough.....
