WITH THE SEQUINS!

I am in full on Christmas mode.  When I say full on, I mean, I have the mulled wine on tap (code for - I put it in a jug in the microwave.  Yes, all the class.  But it works), I am hoovering mince pies at the rate of "I will be the size of Santa by Christmas", I've started my Christmas shopping and if I thought I could get away with putting Christmas music on, I would.

And to top it off, on Thursday, I'm taking the 13yr old to her first Premiere (like I've done a gazillion.. I've done the grand total of two!) and the theme is CHRISTMAS!

Which can only mean one thing.  Sequins.  Oh yes, not content with breaking the seal on the Christmas food and drink, I'm cracking out the bling.  Now I can do sequins in every single guise - tops, trousers, skirts but today, I'm looking at jackets.

Why?  As they are so incredibly versatile and when it comes to sequins, are the one thing I think can be worn all year round.  I throw mine on with a tee, jeans and ankle boots or trainers during the Summer.  I'm planning on wearing mine with a silk shirt, jeans and awesome heels for Thursday night, with black trousers and any top - it will be part of your go to Christmas outfit.

Starting with one that I have had my eye on all season and shall definitely be including in a blog I have up my sleeve for House of Fraser.

Biba Colour Block Sequin Jacket was £99 now £79.20

Boxy style again at Dorothy Perkins in silver, was £40 now £30 (there's 25% off everything at Dorothy Perkins, if you're interested...).

And in a black, again now only £30.  Which they also do in a tall and petite online.

But fear not - I've managed to find some that don't have a round neck, which I am always being asked to look for.  Ta Dah!

Black at Whistles.

Sequin Jacket £139

Love the colour of this one from Wallis.

Wallis Black Sequin Jacket from House of Fraser was £90 now £72

Longerline at Boohoo.  This also comes in black, as well as the green.  I have to say I would wear, errr.. more than this underneath it.

Gemma Sequin Tailored Blazer £35  Also available in a champagne colour - on the link.

And a NAVY one!  Well - midnight.  This is divine.

V By Very Sequin Tux Blazer £60

Another black one with a thermal lining.  GENIUS.

HotSquash Sequin Jacket £95 in black

In a dark gold shade, again thermal lined from HotSquash was £89 now £71.20

And the same in a wine shade - £95

And a half sequin option, just in case you're not up for the full monty.  Plus a different style - bomber.

Velour Bomber Jacket with Sequins £39

But finishing with my other favourite (the Biba gold one has my name all over it) - a black shoulder pad tastic one.  I have a black Zadig & Voltaire one that I got from TKMaxx last year that is so incredibly useful.  Were I not to have one, I would buy this in a heartbeat.

V by Very Statement Shoulder Pad Sequin Jacket £50

How are you doing on your party outfit planning?  Do you go full on or just add a hint of something festive - a la sequin jacket?  Fear not, this is not the end of the sparkle fest - heaps more to come.

There weren't sequins in the last couple of days but it was definitely special.  The husband and I were treated to a night away at the Belmond Le Manoir Aux Quat'Saisons.  It was honestly the most incredible experience ever.  The room was out of this world (we stayed in the Lemongrass Suite, complete with fish tank, steam room - I kid you not - and tv that descended from the ceiling), the tasting menu was some of the best food I have ever tasted and the accompanying wines were heavenly.  But there is something about the service, the atmosphere, the buildings, the grounds - that elevates it all to truly magical.

I will report back tomorrow on what I bought - I didn't go mad...in fact I was very restrained.  Although I did have to go back today (so two visits..) on the way home to change a scarf that I thought was navy and black.  In the cold light of day, it apparently was purple and brown.  I still thought it was a shade of blue but the husband said it was definitely brown and purple (according to the label in Gucci it was "flannel/dark brown".  Have NO idea what colour flannel is?!  It's definitely not blue though...)   So I went and exchanged it for.. one that was actually navy and black (even according to the label).  Which will be worn tomorrow.  With my other purchase (which I also wore last night for dinner - pics to come tomorrow) - a navy dress from See by Chloe.  Over the moon with it and what better proof that a purchase is a winner, than when you wear it less than a couple of hours after buying it!

    2. I know the feeling, the charity shop does very well out of me. I'd be totally useless at trying to sell my pre-loved items, so we won't go there. And I get to support a good cause.

  4. Ohhh quite drawn to the Wallis jacket. Haven’t been near them in years - seems they are a bit less school teacher than in the past! Love a bit of bling for the festive season and as you say, not restricted to party season. Beautiful outfits for your night away too.

    1. I can't believe I've missed these. I'm also gutted that I seem to have missed the kids' skiwear - not because we take them skiing but they do the most amazing skins that the boys wear for rugby for about a fiver!
