Bauble time.

Of the statement and the earring variety.

Today I had the most wonderful day in London at both the Boden and Next S/S14 Press Preview days.  I have stacks of photos which I need to sort through and a shopping list a mile long which I'll definitely share with you but in the meantime, I wanted to show off a gem - actually two gems, one for each ear - from my goodie bag from Next.

The most perfect timing as I had a chandelier style blog in the offing and now I have a pic with actual earrings on.  I love them.  Completely love them and am already planning my Saturday night out clothes around them.

Excuse the rather windswept look - got rather nailed in the rain.  And whilst we're here, a huge thank you to the lovely lady in Zara Covent Garden who recognised me and said she loved the blog.  Absolutely fab jacket you bought by the way.  I may have snuck in the black one...... And a camel one..... I have a coat blog up my sleeve as well.

Ta dah...

And you can currently buy them at Next

So whilst I get the rest of my photos sorted, here are a selection of other stunning gems that are out there to adorn those ears.  Pat Butcher eat your heart out.  These make the simplest of tops perfect night out ware.  Without further ado, let your ears do the talking.

I'm only going to mention her name once tonight - cough Jenna cough happy opening of JCrew tonight - but these from JCrew are just gorgeous.  The sort of earrings that you think - oh I can find those for a tenner somewhere else.  Except you sort of can't.

M&S have just released their new Christmas Ad so are all about all things sparkly.  These completely fit the bill.  They scream Christmas no?

I appreciate this is blasphemy to many but I don't watch Downtown. Gasp. Have never seen it and have no desire to ever see it.  I know, I know, I'm a fool but I just can't abide a period drama.  However for those of you are fans or who have a mum, aunt or sister who are avid watchers, these may be a fab Christmas pressie.

Love the simplicity of these.

Again, these aren't too out there, but just the right amount of bling.

If you're looking for an injection of colour.

And full on colour.

A statement jewellery post wouldn't be the same without some gems from my beloved Anthropologie.  Their jewellery is completely marvellous and to be honest, I really can't tell the difference between the reasonably priced pieces and the far more expensive ones.  All excellent quality and all very unique.

Vinifera Chandelier earrings £38.  Adore these - statement but at the same time both delicate and classic.  A stunning dark bottle green.

These also fit the bill but again are slightly less in your face with their simple navy stone.  Just gorgeous.

And I'm sure that there are loads and loads that I've missed out but in the interests of me getting some dinner I must leave it there.  Plus I'm slightly concerned I'll see another three pairs I like and end up with an overload of earrings.  I have to say, those JCrew ones are winking at me..... I am definitely going up to London next week and will be paying the store a visit.  That's if there's anything left of course.

So here's my outfit from today for my trip to London.  No my ankles weren't cold and no they didn't get wet either. They are magic shoes.

Black turtle neck jumper with back zip - Zara
Tweed oversized coat - Zara
Distressed Real Straight jeans - Gap
Black patent and leopard print ponyskin loafers - Zara
Cuff - Hultquist
Stone maxi zip satchel - Anya Hindmarch

Still have all the outfit photos (all three of them) to put up from the weekend, although one is an exact replica of the above outfit which is one of my current faves.  And not even J inspired.

Thank you to Next & Boden, plus all the new and old blogging friends and PRs I met today.  Thoroughly enjoyed it.  Ditto the tiny tiny pieces of shopping I may have snuck in afterwards in Covent Garden.....Oh I'll return it all, it doesn't count as shopping.

  4. Loving the bling. Can I just ask how heavy they are? I find most of these glam, dangly numbers can be on the heavy side, creating rather unattractive National Geographic-esque drooping lobes..... Always on the lookout for featherweight beauties for that reason. Long to see your Boden list. I, like you, have stopped sneering at their offerings (hmmm, does that mean offering has improved or I have lowered my game...?). Big fan of your blog. Plugs serious hole - thank you!

    1. They are very very light. (ie cheap!) Which I suppose is an advantage. I bought some from All Saints a couple of years ago and they weren't cheap and OMG it's like wearing actual chandeliers from your ears. Criminally painful. These are much better as are the ones I got last year from Forever 21. Boden is looking really really good next year, trust me xx (and thank you for your lovely comments!) xx

  5. While you're talking all things sparkly, can I draw your attention to this fab website I just discovered. Basically you order direct from China, so you get Zara/Stella&Dot/JCrew jewellery for a fraction of the price. My order hasn't arrived yet but I have high hopes based on the necklace a work colleague was wearing which was identical to one Zara is currently selling but a third of the price.

    1. OOOH i'll have a look at that. Does it take an eon to order? And is the quality as good? I know it's probably ridiculously unethical ordering from them but to be honest it's highly likely that's where the originals come from anyway and we're just not paying for the massive mark up the stores charge (or the sky high taxed and duties that we get charged from S&D and JCREW!)

    1. They're stunning aren't they? I reckon they're the sort of thing you would have for years in your wardrobe. Definitely going on my Christmas List. x

  9. I love those earings although am always hesitant with having short hair that long earings make me look like an '80's social worker (not that there's anything wrong with social workers btw). Love your writing style, despite my fashion ignorance, your comments often make me laugh out loud. I think you should ask for a regular section in the daily mail!
