The 2013 equivalent of Animal Jumpers

Although there's not an animal in sight (ok at the beginning... then I may have got ideas above my station)  This may however, be scant consolation to those who hate all things embellished, all things slogan or all things general sweatshirt as these are unapologetically in your face all of the above.

Continuing on from my love for all things inspired by Jenna from yesterday (even though I will hold my head up and say that I have had these on my radar for longer than two minutes, honest guv), these are slightly more full on than the slightly plainer ones from yesterday (two of which I may have already ordered to pick up from my beloved Click & Collect at John Lewis tomorrow. Ssshh)

Starting with this absolute beauty (with a matching skirt that I had to include just in case anyone else is into their matchy matchy as much as I am)
Gold Jacquard Sweat from Warehouse

Now I appreciate that as much I've been banging on about matchy matchy outfits, must to most people's distaste, I have never got around to doing it yet.  Will this be my moment?  I'm hoping that this will work as well on its own withe a black polo neck or black shirt.  Even a cream shirt (she says knowing that she has a couple in her wardrobe - hurrah)

On reflection, this is probably ridiculously too short.  SOB.  If someone half my age is reading please buy this and wear it.  Gah.  Or someone shorter.

Metallic Sweat shirt from Warehouse

This is a fabulously useful concept - a detachable collar on a sweatshirt.  And I love Maison Scotch anyway.  Perfect if you don't fancy doing full on tie dye jeans then this is a great option.   Of course you could always team them with leather shorts.  Obviously.

Wildfox Starshine Sweatshirt reduced to £59  I love the simplicity to this - great shape with a lovely star detail but in an easy to wear neutral pairing of colours.

A sweatshirt thread wouldn't be a proper sweatshirt thread without including a Zoe Karssen and I love love love this one - again think a white shirt underneath and some black cigarette pants and a pair of leopard print pointed pumps (she says doing a great job of talking herself into it..)

Zoe Karssen Creme de la Creme Sweatshirt £95

Also love the classic (yes, as random as it sounds, it's considered in certain circles a Karssen classic) Bat Sweatshirt - £95

Now we're getting to animal status.  You were warned....

McQ Alexander McQueen Bird Flocked Sweatshirt £205

Staying with the logo/pic theme (which is polite code for animal) then I love this one from Boutique by Jaeger.

This has sold out online at Jaeger and at House of Fraser and is full price at £60 at John Lewis.  But bargaintastic now for £25 at ASOS.

Boutique by Jaeger Leopard Face Sweater now £25

And some of you will be pleased to hear that I have to leave it there as I have no internet at home.  Yes, I actually feel like I have lost a limb.  Thank you BT.  I am hoping normal service will be resumed tomorrow but till then I have decamped to the bestie's house and am making use of her computer.  So I'll be quick as I may have a glass of wine waiting...

Finishing with my outfit from yesterday.  Not exactly full on Halloween (at all) but I decided to invest all of my dressing up prowess into the three rugrats.

Leopard print silk top - Zara
Double Zip skinny jeans - Mint Velvet
Margo boots - Sam Edelman
Tan cuff - Mulberry

So a brief round up of the livelier tops that are out there.  Do they fill you with utter horror? (I fully expect these will fill my monthly Marmite brief)  Or are you an embellised/logo/pic sweatshirt fan?

  3. Yesterday's post was about clashing and today's is about matching...you sound just like me. I don't think I will ever have a signature style, I just still don't know what I want to look like. I have so many different style clothes I look completely different from one day to the next-I have leather and denim chap jeans and nice pencil skirts and dresses. Oh well my husband thinks he has been married to many different women! X

  4. Gah! Can't do jumpers. Can't bear the idea of being too hot and taking it off over makeup and hair. Cardigans all the way.

  5. Marmite. Lots of great things on this blog, but not today. Sweatshirts are for the gym. Or never.

I reckon you are on to something here - lets face it if you mentioned wearing wet look leggings a few years ago we'd have all laughed and even P Middys' sporting them now...

  6. Hi Kat (again) said sweatshirt arrived - success thank you, bracelet length sleeves and lightweight in a not-serious-sportswear way, I am the envy of the playground (mothers rather than kids) happy Friday.
