By jove I think they've got it...

It's almost as if they read my blog.  Clearly I know they don't (and I do know this has been in the offing for a while) but oh my giddy aunt, M&S have a new website.

I've had a good old play around with it last night and today and it's pretty darn good.  At the very least is a squidillion times better than the last one which isn't exactly difficult to be fair (I do appreciate by the way that this is very hypocritical as I have the most noddy blog lay out when it comes to mine but I may be rectifying that - some time this century.  Totally pot kettle - I will admit)

Actually I haven't had a great play around at all as I really didn't get much further than the bags (and shoes - I may have had a bit of a lust at them).   And I really had planned on doing a general bag blog but well - their bags are like Pringles.  Once you pop, you can't stop.  Bag, after bag, after bag, after bag.  All.  Gorgeous.

I really don't think they've released loads of new stock - I have seen some of these instore, but suddenly they all look pretty darn gorgeous.

So, just as I spend so long being mean about their website, in honour of all things new and shiny and the fact, fair play to them, that there is an amazing selection of bags - here are ones just from M&S.  Including my absolute absolute fave.  (not just from M&S but generally out of all the bags I've found anywhere)

Starting with one in the most stunning shade of blue.  No it's not navy but it's the perfect foil to a navy outfit.  A much more wearable blue for the summer.   I'd say this is a cross between cobalt and navy, almost a petrol.

Leather Cross-Body bag from Autograph £59  They also do have this in black and brown online.

Autograph Grab Bag in Pink £89 I love the idea of this with all my navy and black.  Throw in some white and you've got a perfect pastel nod to all things on trend this year.  I would contemplate teaming with some sneakery yoof shoe things (sounding like a total old gimmer without even trying - tis a gift, I tell you) - perfect with the juxtaposition of the structured bag.  And also ideal for a wedding.  Or First Holy Communion.  Which is handy if you have one of those coming up this year.  And it matches your outfit...

M&S leather zip front bowler bag £62  Another great leather bag for day - casual or work.  They have this in a red as well I seem to recall.

They also do a black and white Autograph version for £99

Not so many gorgeous tan bags around but this one more than makes up for it.  Absolutely adore this shape.  This is one actually that does look better in store.  You really can't quite see how buttery the leather of this is.  As good quality as a designer bag for five times (or more..) the price.

Autograph Bowler Bag £99

M&S seem to have bowler bags sewn up with this super cute studded version.  Moving into non leather now.

Limited Edition Studded Bowler Bag £39.50

Studded Cross Tab Body Bag £29.50 These are exquisite. I can't wait to see what they look like instore as they look fab online.  Tis a miracle, I tell you.

They also do this in a pink which is gorgeous. also £29.50

Limited Edition Snake Chain Bowler Bag £35  I don't have to tell you that my obsession is all things blue at the moment (just in case you hadn't noticed)

If small isn't your thing then they do it in a shopper version.  Love this shape, great for throwing everything in (even though all my kids are at school, why do I always have a McDonald's toy/crayons/small lego man/random pink hair bobble in my bag?)

Limited Edition Snake Chain Shopper £45

Mini Satchel Bag M&S Collection in Duck Egg (hmmm I'll check the colour out of this tomorrow) £29.50  Another little structured number - perfect with sneakers.

Finishing however with my absolute favourite.   I think this does photograph better than the tan one (it is the same bag as the one above).  Love it so much I have already papped it and it's on my list of blue bag maybes for the summer.

Look how gorgeous the leather is!

If you have the time - go forth and peruse the bags.  There is pretty much a bag for everyone, of that I am sure.  And don't stop there - keep going and let me know what you think.

Now there are of course "some" glitches.  I promise I didn't go looking for them - I was just looking for this absolutely gorgeous dress that I papped last week and wanted to show you as it's just too stunning for words.  It has pride of place in the Autograph section - on the model, loads of them on the main rail at the front.  Clearly it's bound to be online... Well I can't find it.

I will keep looking but here are the pics of it and even mine don't do it justice in the flesh.  Actually there does look like there are loads of lovely new dresses in (to be fair they've probably been in for ages but it's been impossible to spy them online till now)

There also appear to be no shoes in the Autograph Shoe & Boot section when you click on the section under the Brands Autograph Shoes & Boots.  None.  Totally void.

Then when you click on Shoes - Brands - Autograph .... the shoes I want are not there.

But when you click on Shoes - High Heels, hey presto they appear.  Autograph ones.  That's just irritating no?

However they are so so so SO worth it.  These are beautiful.  They are ridiculously comfortable and I am gutted that I have my old Zara ones which are too similar to even begin to attempt to justify a purchase (and for me to say that, they must be verging on identical)

Autograph Suede Water Resistant Shoes with Insolia £99 (they may need some work still on their descriptions - not really selling it with that one)

So I'm off to see what other gems I can find online that I can then hunt down tomorrow.  I can't WAIT to hear what you all think about it.

Here I am today in my new top which arrived first thing.  And yes, I may have changed as I love it.  Looking a bit odd here, 5 year old was tasked with the photo as I've been out all day with the kids, one at a sleepover now and one flat refusal to get involved.  Kitchen being demolished as we speak - hence the floor is covered in dust. It's not going to get any better for a while.  McDonald's for lunch and pizza for tea.  This is going to be a slippery slope......

Whisky Medium Marcie satchel - Chloe

Tomorrow off for a girly day with the 9 year old and some friends, the boys are at football.  Half term not going too badly at all.  I haven't resorted to wine yet which is a minor miracle.  With that and the new M&S website - it's clearly a week for firsts.  Let me know what you think! (of the website, not my abstinence, thank you)

  5. I stumbled across the new website a couple of days ago and it is indeed much improved. I had the problem that I found what I had been looking for but it wouldn't let me select a size to add to my bag. Tried the next day though and it did work. Strange! Some gorgeous bags here too and I LOVE those shoes - absolutely stunning. Still trying to get my head around some of the prices of new stock - so expensive for M&S! Lynne x

  9. The studded cross body bag is stunning! I already have a Brit-Stitch bag that colour but I've been eyeing up that shape everywhere so if there is another colour (other than pink) I'm there! Thanks for the heads up re: the new website. I shall browse away and probably send it to Mum as well :)

  10. Love the Autograph Pink Bag. It might just be my summer bag. To take over where my John Lewis bag (picked by you in green, so I went to check it out and got the one-they-called-grey-I-think-is-kind-of-fudge) which saw me through winter ( and lots of compliments). Other hits as chosen by you - the Anthropolgie Avebury necklace which was worth the crush that was travelling through Oxford Circus at Xmas. Plus a Mango dress and M&S furry jacket. It's the easiest clothes shop I get to do - am deeply appreciative of all your trawling and choosing!
