Let's talk coats

As right now and for the foreseeable future, that's what it looks like we'll be wearing.

And there is no better time than the sales to stock up on one to wear next Winter.  The joy of the Winter sales happening before Winter has actually started, is that you get to wear it now as well.

It definitely pays to invest in a good coat.  Especially one that you love.  It doesn't necessarily have to be a classic - just one that goes with everything you have and one that you LOVE.  That's the main thing.  So whilst, I always recall the advice having been to buy a classic black, navy or grey one - yes that's obviously a very good idea but if it's a yellow number or an out there check beauty that makes your heart sing - well I say just go for it.

Or how about full on red at Jigsaw in the sale.

Double Face Longline Coat at Jigsaw was £280 now £168

Longerline, red again but this time belted in the sale at & Other Stories.

Oversized Alpaca Blend Coat in Red was £165 now £118

Red again at Boden with 40% off.

Lindfield Wrap Coat was £220 now £132

Shorter red again at Boden. Ideal for the more diminutive amongst us who sometimes feel they're drowning in bigger coats.

Holywell Coat in red from Boden was £198 now £119

Moving onto pink and easing you in gently with a blush shade...

Holywell Coat from Boden was £198 now £119

Full on pink is a definite winner for me.

Lux Wool Blend Round Collar Coat from Jigsaw was £360 now £252

Yellow at FCUK in the sale.

Coatigan from French Connection was £120 now £99

Classic navy with a twist at Jigsaw.

Demi Faux Fur Coat in Navy was £299 now £209

Check at Topshop - you may or may not have noticed, I have a check coat obsession.  I have had one of mine for 5yrs and I absolutely love it.  They simply don't seem to ever go out of fashion.  Actually it's not about fashion, it's about looking at something and thinking, I LOVE that and wearing it.  That's what I think personal style is.  Wearing something that isn't necessarily *in fashion* but that you feel fabulous in and will therefore look great.

Check Coat from Topshop was £95 now £60

Check and fur mix at Boden in the sale.

Burley Coat was £275 now £165

This one is very similar to a much more expensive Sandro coat I saw the other day in Selfridges, for a fraction of the cost.

Check Coat from Topshop was £89 now £60

Check at hush in the sale...

Pelle Wool Coat was £219 now £140

Check from FCUK in the sale...

French Connection Coat was £220 now £88

Half price check at John Lewis was £249 now £125

And not forgetting the Teddy Coats which will absolutely be around in spades next AW as well.  This one has a something extra.  Definitely my pick of the season if you're shorter as it's the perfect length for you to wear the coat and not for it to wear you.

Hereford Coat was £180 now £126

Variation on neutral at hush in the sale.

Colourblock coat from hush was £189 now £125

And a neutral classic for a great reduction at Whistles.

Whistles Textured Wool Belted Coat was £285 now £118.15

Or this one at John Lewis in Oatmeal was £249 now £75

And here I am in a coat from five years ago - proving my point about them being super useful and versatile.  And lasting the test of time...

Coat - Zara (sale 5yrs ago)
Jumper - The White Company (from paid partnership)
Jeans - Zara (sale 3yrs ago)
Trainers - hush (aw18)
Bag - YSL (current)

Then we got nailed in the rain.  Note to self.  Do not ever pay attention to the iPhone weather app as it's naff.  It doesn't work.  End of.  Currently sat here looking at it... *partly cloudy - 10percent chance of rain*  Look outside *tipping it down*

Well seeing as Spring doesn't seem to be on the way just yet, I have some ankle boots coming up tomorrow.  And ones that aren't super chunky so I think they're going to go down quite well...

    1. Personally, I'd say these kind of coats aren't the warmest, but are great for layers underneath. If it gets sub zero then my puffa comes out, but for tbh the last few winters in Denmark haven't required the next level! These are great for me!
