It's been a while...
…. and I haven't really done a lot of big earring action but I'm thinking for the Spring - following on from my classic blazer post yesterday - there will be Pat Butchers on speed for next season.
Tee, blazer, jeans and loafers, ankle boots or heels - the statement earring is the easiest way to add instant chic and elevate the day. (total fashun gobshite alert there).
And I thought I'd have a quick look at the sales - as well as scouring all that is new in to see if we can accumulate a couple which work PERFECTLY for our theory of just adding a couple of new things to make old outfits sing again.
As we're heading into the season of "I have been wearing these winter clothes for a while now"...
A jumper is a jumper is a jumper and can be quite dull but throw on a new pair of earrings and hello - it suddenly feels a whole lot fresher and new.
Ditto to a faithful silk shirt and a pair of jeans. New earrings are suddenly the only focus. They also mean that you can tie your hair back so you don't have to wash it which, I have to say, is reason enough for me to start a post. Genius no?
And these are the ones I can't stop thinking about.
Ciuccue face and tile earrings from Rosantica by Michela Panero were £198 now £99
These however are a fabulous alternative from Mango - new in for £15.99 They're clearly not the same but I think they do have that similar vintage vibe to them.
Proper statement at Net a Porter AND these are clip on. Now I personally don't like clip on earrings, I always feel like I have babies clinging to my ear lobes and I've never found any that don't make me want to leg it to A&E within 34 minutes.
BUT should I change my mind for these... Earring. Porn.
Mercedes Salazar in the sale at Net. Were £250 now £125
These I absolutely love but again they're clip on (lucky you if you love that!)
Mercedes Salazar earrings from Net a Porter were £235 now £141
Or these... ok maybe I'm going to just have to try the baby hanging from your ear lobe earrings... how painful can they be if they're quite expensive? These are all you would need to turn a plain blouse and jeans into THE most amazing outfit.
Mercedes Salazar earrings were £305 now £153
Clip on again from Kenneth Lane at The Outnet were £140 now £53
Again on sale at Net a Porter.
Kenneth Jay Lane gold tone earrings were £60 now £42
Go big or go home at Marant.
Isabel Marant earrings were £195 now £98 at Net a Porter
One colour again from Marni.
Marni Gold Earrings were £190 now £95
Orbit earrings from JCrew new in £48 in gold And these ones also have an option for clip on.
And in the mixed gold...again £48 from JCrew.
Clip on again in the sale at Matches.
Grigri shell and fan earrings from Sylvia Toledano were £185 now £87
And these as I'm just drawn to them. For the money, I think these are superb. New in at Mango.
Resin Metal Earrings from £15.99
Monochrome with a twist in the sale at Topshop.
Marble Resin Drop Earrings were £10 now £8
Resin earrings from Mango were £12.99 now £6.49
Geometric again but this time new in at Mango.
Geometric earrings £12.99
These at Topshop - although I have no idea how big they are. Yes I KNOW I could look at the measurements but I never quite can get the idea (I know, I know... but they are nearly always so much smaller than I anticipate - and yes, I can measure properly..!).
Rectangle Drop Earrings were £14.50 now £11.60
But then we move into the realms of colour.
Mixed pendant earrings from Mango were £12.99 now £6.49
I have a penchant for all things green...
Jet Stone Earrings from Topshop were £12.50 now £10
Finishing with some random numbers. Ones that make no rhyme nor reason but that you just love.
Lucite and crystal shield earrings from JCrew were £59.50 now £30
And here I am yesterday - not in any form of earrings. But charged with intentions of getting back into the ear candy.
Jumper - A Finer Thread (gift aw17)
Trousers - M&S (ss18)
Trainers - Golden Goose (sale 3yrs ago)
Coat - Jigsaw (gift aw17)
Bag - Nunoo Bags from Quattro RIsh (current)
Hope everyone is surviving the tail end of the holidays. I would be lying if I said we hadn't been slightly derailed this weekend - one of mine went back to school on Thursday and has done nothing but let it know how displeased they are with this! C'est la vie...
Anyway, the other two have been on very long walks (admittedly with a hot chocolate at the end) but there has been NO PS4 or Xbox which I think is fair. And has made them much less grumpy and truculent but boy, spending 24/7 entertaining them in the meantime, is exhausting. Feeling a whole load of guilt at how much I let a games console parent. Seriously, this parenting lark is HARD and doesn't get any easier. I definitely think new earrings are in order as compensation...
