My name is Kat...

.....and I am a Sales Addict.  If we're going to be pedantic about pinpointing my affliction - perhaps a more accurate statement would be - My name is Kat and I am a Zara Sales Addict.

I was about to type "in my defence" but really, I don't have a defence.  I will hold my hands up and say I am rubbish.  Zara isn't even that expensive full price for goodness sake.  But there is something about nabbing a bargain in the Zara sale that I am an absolute sucker for.

Actually on second thoughts I am going to say - In my defence - as I can completely (!) justify my splurges.
  • I have already worn nearly all of the purchases.  At least once.
  • They are perfect for wearing in the Spring/Summer
  • They were all items that I have similar-ish on a wish list
  • They were cheap (scraping the barrel here but it's true)
  • It was coming up to my birthday (desperado justification but it makes up the numbers)

Unfortunately online there is only one top left instock but I would say it's definitely worth while trawling your local Zara.  The last two I went to had absolutely tons of sales stuff left.  Get there early when it's pristine and I reckon you can snaffle a great bargain or two.  And let me know!!

So starting with what's left online - Studio Blouse - now £17.99   Only left in an XS but mine is only an M and is absolutely huge.  I've never seen a blouse with such long sleeves.

Here it is on me

Next another cream top.  This one was £17.99 as well.  I never actually saw this in store as I definitely would have bought it (or maybe I wouldn't as it was £49.99. hmmm)

Untitled

Here we another lace top - this time very much for the summer.  It's in a peach colour.  Which sounds ming a ring ding, but it's a version of nude that's much more flattering on my skin tone.  My sequin jacket and coated skinnies were this shade last year.  Perfect with a little vest underneath.  I know that I actually struggle for tops on very warm sunny days and this will work so well with a myriad of outfits.  £17.99.

This was a super bargain at just £9.99.  It reminds me hugely of an Acne top that was out last Spring (which wasn't £9.99 funnily enough) but regardless, it's a really useful Spring easy every day wear top.  And also would look great on a night out.  Close up in second photo so you can see the relief of the velvet.  This again, I didn't see full price as I would definitely have bought it.  A perfect slightly fitted top, so not baggy but not too fitted that it hugs bits of you round the midriff that don't need hugging.  Maybe not the perfect neckline for everyone but a great shape for most women.

And lastly - a brief nod to my newest style crush that I mentioned.  This looks great with my new jeans (report soon)  and new navy Zara blazer.  Not very me.  But I have a plan...... £9.99.  So it would have been rude not to.

Finally here we have the outfits from the weekend.  A full report on relevant bits I got for my birthday (and boy are there some relevant bits - I am a very very lucky girl) in due course. (nothing like stringing it out, is there?)

  4. Great Zara haul...particularly love the floral blouse.
I am really interested to hear about your revelation that is those boden jeans. I have a boden credit note burning a hole in my pocket so may attempt a purchase! Oh how I dream of a pair of jeans that can flatten out the muffin top....Are you wearing the dark denim or the mid denim colour? I normally plump for a darker denim[more slimming?] but really like the colour you are wearing.
glad you had a great time in Suffolk. It is such a gem of a place. Now all I need to go with those boden jeans is a beach hut in Southwold!

    happy belated birthday,

  6. I fully sympathise Kat I went a bit crazy in Zara myself recently especially on shoes, 5 new pairs! That's definately a record for me. There's some amazing bargains still left at this stage it's definitely one of the best sales about. You got some great bargains there too.

  7. I've gone a bit mad in the Zara sale myself. Snapped up a pair of red suede boots for £16.99 and they are so comfy. Love them!
Just ordered the lace blouse too. They only had a large left and I'm curious how you find the fit...true to size? What size are you wearing in the pics, if you don't mind me asking?

  8. The Zara sale is amazing ... it's never-ending! Each time I go in (I should resist!) there's even more stock on the rails. Love your purchases and dying to see the Goat cardi in full shot. Glad you enjoyed your birthday weekend.

  9. I love Zara - everything seems to fit well. Usually do get carried away in their sale but didn't make it this time somehow. Love the 'peachy' lace top! x

  10. Hello Kat, thank you so much for pointing out to the Boden jeans! I've been looking for such a long time for this exact fit to replace a one-off amazing Calvin Klein I had found at TKMaxx that I had worn to death. I truly dislike these all-over skintight jeans that seem to be the only fit most shops can churn out, you totally made my day :) Love the Zara tunic. I'm sure it'll work out with many of your outfits.

  11. Wow I never thought I'd see you in Boden! I wear Boden a lot but only tried the trousers/jeans in the autumn/winter 2012 season. Have to agree, the fit is awesome across the chinos/ankle skimmers/skinny cords.

Your Zara sale purchases are very very pretty, can't wait to see you in the patterend (paisley?) top, something a little bit different and it looks great!

  13. You are not alone in your Zara sale addiction I have spent far too much in there recently and I'm afraid I have just succumbed to the lace blouse as well, only left in L but I can be any size in Zara from XS to XL so it may be fine! Will give the Boden jeans a try am always on the lookout for a slim leg rather than skintight. Love your Goat cardi too, such a good colour for your colouring. sara x

  15. Hi there! I reckon all sales purchases can be justified when they're worn near on straightaway, go with existing things in your wardrobe and are suitable for any season-well done for a successful sales shop! Love your Goat cardigan and the Cool Britannia scarf too!

  16. I too have ordered the M&S bag today after checking out the red one in store, I was surprised at how big it is! I was also thinking about ordering the Britannia scarf as I loved it when you first bought it. Just wondering if it is itchy at all though, I have a bit of an aversion to wool, just wondering if I'd get away with it though...

    1. I've also just bought the M&S bag today in black, love it! they have loads in store now. Your post last night prompted me to pop into Zara today and came out with 2 mulberry silk shirts, one with sparkles on, both £22 from £80.
Last spring I bought the cream stone necklace from Anthropologie after seeing how lovely it looked on, sadly have not worn at all so have listed on well known auction site, just wondered if it would be ok to use one of your pics of it to help it find a new owner?
sorry I know this comes up as anonymous but can't remember how to put my name in, can any techies help?

  17. You are seriously adding to my wardrobe in a good way though I picked up a M in that Zara studio blouse would have never thought about a style like this until I saw it on you and I love it you also pursued me to buy the RI jacket that you picked up in the sales and again would have not bought it but for you loving my new purchases and your blog can't wait to see your birthday haul!
