Is that the sun I see...?

Almost.  Ish.  Ok so it may not be super sunny weather but it's warming up.  I have just been sat out on the beach for the best part of a couple of hours and whilst it's not super sunny today and ever so slightly on the windy side (a meteorological hazard of the Suffolk coast, regardless how hot it is), it's definitely warmer.  I managed to remove the scarf, which is a punchy move for this time of year here, that I can assure you.

Handy then that I packed the perfect top for a UK holiday and that is a tee.  A good old fashioned, classically British, works for every age, every lifestyle and pretty much everyone - t-shirt.

But obviously with a *slight* difference.  Printed.  A tee with writing on.  Hardly reinventing the wheel but it just makes it that little bit more interesting.   Or a picture.  The best thing about these, there are now so many out there, you can choose the ones that work for you.  It's like wearing a bit of your personality emblazened on your boobs. Actually as I type that, not exactly selling it to myself...

So perhaps ignore that and just focus on the fact these are super useful.  That little bit more than a generic plain tee.  I've built up quite a collection over the last couple of years and have added a few more to my haul recently.  Again, they're the one thing that - and I will admit, rather randomly - have stood the test of time.

It won't surprise anyone that I favour the more generic monochrome style, although have branched out in the past with a grey and a navy (living life on the edge folks, that's me).

They are perfect for holiday with jeans or joggers (shorts or a skirt if you're feeling more adventurous) or - my new found favourites which I'm wearing today - cropped harems.

I love a bit of minimalism but sometimes a tee shirt can be just a tad too generic.  These are tees with personality (we'll leave that there though and move swiftly on...).

Mine two new favourites are from hush.  Don't forget your 10% off with the code MIAMI01.

hush Etoile tee £30

hush Feather tee £30

My other favourite logo tees are from Zoe Karssen which totally last the test of time.  I would go so far as to say the original and certainly the best.  In my book anyway.  Wash like a dream.  I have more than a couple.  Although there is surely always room for more...

And there are loads to choose from at the moment at The Outnet.

Zoe Karssen Forever Cowboy tee was £60 now £30

Another with red.. super useful for a monochrome wardrobe...

Kiss & Tell Jersey tee from Zoe Karssen was £60 now £27

Longsleeved now... bargain again at 55% off was £72 now £32.40  I may have to cave on this one...

Printed linen in a stripe - also from Ms K.  LOVE.  Was £80 now £40

Stripe again at Whistles (this would have been rather perfect for my holiday wardrobe.. earmarks for the Summer...).  Still 20% off...

Merci Stripe Logo T-shirt was £45 now £36

More navy at Whistles - again worth buying with the 20% off.

Le Soir was £45 now £36

You certainly don't have to pay a fortune for these, that's for sure.

I'm not sure why I like this, but I have to say I do...maybe it's the inner Bobby Brown fan from the 80s that's coming out...  or just the hint of yellow that I love with the black and white.

ASOS T-shirt Toucan Play that Game (boom boom) £14

A complete bargain and love the shaped hem.

Noisy May Start tee £10

This looks so much more than a tenner, no?

Boohoo Wild & Free tee £10

And of course - classic vintage style Bowie... Love.  Also liking that this is a linen mix.  Am going to throw it out there that fringed hot pants won't be making their debut in my wardrobe any time soon.  Of that you can be sure... But the tee - yup, that could stay.

Pull&Bear Bowie Tee £15.99

Here I am today in mine.  Lunch with the family on our hols.

Finishing with a super exciting link with some coverage today from Stella Magazine in The Telegraph.  A little bit of recognition.  Ever so slightly chuffed....

We have the most ridiculous sporadic wifi here.  Which basically means it's doesn't really work at all.  Apparently there's a fault.  I am clearly a technical Jonah as obviously my phone still isn't fixed either.  It's only been three weeks now.  And they maintain they're "trying to fix it".  So I will be back when I can... Only spent two hours on the phone with them yesterday... how I have not seriously lost my temper yet is a minor miracle.  And breathe....

    1. Ahhh now I think it might be sold out.. It was on this blog but it seems to be now sold out... http://doesmybumlook40.blogspot.co.uk/2016/05/bank-holiday-binge.html Ironically the first time I wore it was on Friday night and then they had it in the Stella feature. Weird... Sorry!

  6. Congratulations Kat! I've followed you since the beginning and look forward to each blog entry...my husband does not as I've made a few teeny weeny purchases based on your recommendations!

  7. Oh, I will look out for that article in Stella, I haven't got round to reading the weekend papers yet. Always great to see stylish women not just in their 20s. I'm late to the party with printed tees, but I have one in grey and one in navy, maybe one in white too?

Have a good time in Suffolk, we were in Southwold yesterday for lunch with family and a stroll along the pier with the kids. It was indeed lovely.

  8. Funnily enough I'd just ordered a grey tee with writing on saturday, then your post came! Mine is from maison scotch and I'd been checking them out for weeks before deciding (mostly a question of whether it should be navy or grey), then it was reduced and I could get a further 15% discount, so it was a case of now or never! The fact that I also ordered a blouse is neither here or there.....

  9. Love a printed tee. Very tempted by the Hush feather. I have a few from Zoe Karssen and they've been really well worn. Great article in Stella, congratulations.
Love your new bag. I'm after a black cross body. Have been saving for a Chloe Hudson and thinking about the suede multi tassle Hudson. It's beautiful but not sure how long fringing will be around and if I'll have had enough of it next year. It needs to stand the test of time - what would your advice be Kat?
    Enjoy your hols

    1. The Karssen's wear really well, don't they? Hmmm now... I have to say I think the Chloe Hudsons are very overpriced for what they are to be honest. I think fringing will definitely last a couple of years and to be honest - they haven't really gone out of fashion in the Summer have they? I can't see Boho going anywhere as there are so few Summer options to wear otherwise! But I do think there are other black cross body bags out there which may be more wearable all year round.... Blog coming up on them today! Haven't done a bag one for ages so it seems...!

    2. Oh look forward to today's blog. Was hoping the Chloe style I want might be reduced in sale!

    3. The tees are SO much better than the sweatshirts. Wild Fox sweats are so sos o much better. I do have a Zoe K jumper though and that's amazing....

  10. Hmm I would say Zoe Karssen is yes on the standard size - if erring towards the small...
