The fashion equivalent of a salad...

... which you can file under "things I thought I'd never write" but totally makes sense.  To me anyway.  The danger of writing a blog that you edit yourself - very easy to get totally carried away in the direction of completely random and assuming that everyone else will follow your inane train of thought.

Ok so it's not really anything like a salad, but I need something to motivate me to move as we are living in the equivalent of a Christmas squat and I need something pretty to think about.

Something light, something floaty, something PRINT.

However, as random as it might be, I know most people love a bit of print.

And that's what we're talking about today - it's all about the print.

PLUS this is a shorty blog.  Not for short people but short dresses.  Yes, not for me at all (which makes a change) but a dress for all season.  Wear now with opaques or leggings (yes leggings) or even jeans.  Definitely jeans.  Layer with a jumper over the top or a thin roll neck underneath.  Throw on with a chunky cardigan and sturdy ankle boots - vive les 90s....  Keep for into the Spring/Summer with bare legs.

With bargains to be had, let's crack on.

Now we all know that I don't get my legs out (although there is some exercise on the cards this year - you have been warned and I've paid for it so I WILL be going - none of this motivate yourself crud that doesn't work for me.  All will be revealed shortly.  In the meantime though - I am still all over the long dresses and making them work hard in my wardrobe by layering with a polo neck over the top.  Neither of these two things are new but both given a new lease of life with a different sort of styling.

We had another day out at the cinema - this time it was Jumanji.  We all leave the house together, we have a lovely 20 mins in the car there and back, no one fights or argues - it's BLISS!  It's probably the one thing (that and the theatre although that is a LOT more expensive) that we can do without anyone coming to blows.  Not to mention I often get a cheeky forty winks.  So it's not as good as The Greatest Showman and it's not as funny as Thor 3 (seriously, I know I've mentioned it before but it's properly amusing!) but I've definitely seen worse.

Tonight it's a takeaway (I simply cannot face another supermarket or another clearing up of the kitchen...) and a glass of wine before our huge New Year's Eve party tomorrow night.   Tomorrow morning, I shall be up early to hopefully finish the Gilmore Girls 10yrs on, which I have to say I am, so far, ridiculously disappointed with.  What have they done to Lorelai?  She's mean, moany and indulged.  I'm hoping it gets better...

  1. Loving some of the prints but have to admit, I’m long past getting the legs out! Love Gilmore Girls too. Best gift hubby ever gave was the full box set, although now a bit defunct! Stick with the new o es. Pretty happy with how it turns out although tough going to get there! Did Ferdinand with my 4year old today and might attempt the Barnham one before school starts again. Would you say it’s suitable for that age?
