What to wear on your feet.

Sounds like a pretty obvious thing, doesn't it? Well in normal circumstances, absolutely - but these are anything but that.
First off - I should say my heart goes out to all of those who have been adversely affected by the current state of affairs. To all of those who are working tirelessly to keep the rest of us safe - from everyone in the NHS and all other carers, to the supermarket workers, to everyone involved in logistics and delivery, to refuse collectors, to all our other emergency services and absolutely everyone else who I have forgotten to mention. We thank you.
To those who are vulnerable and/or elderly and to those who are already sick - may you be safe. To those of you who are currently unemployed with no income due to the present environment we find ourselves in - I hope there is a solution and that the nightmare is over as soon as it can be.
And to the rest of us - we just have to stay at home. That's it. Let's face it, it's not actually that tricky or remotely difficult in the scheme of things - it's just different. It's VERY different - yes it's challenging and it's a lot to get used to but we are the lucky ones.
If you follow me on Instagram, you'll know that personally I'm using humour to get through this - it may not be everyone's way of dealing with it but it's mine. It's absolutely not meant to offend, and I apologise if it's not the sort of content that you're looking for right now.
SO - what have we learnt so far on week one of quarantine?
That we have nothing to wear on our feet. Yes, there are slippers - super comfy but for me - very much the domaine of the relaxing, the end of the day, the duvet day Sunday. Not every day when you have to work from home and your home becomes your home world.
Trainers - yes they're ok but they're a bit outdoorsy... Uggs would be ideal but I had mine on the other day and thought my feet essentially became boil in the bag rice.
We need something comfy but still stylish enough that you'd be happy to wear out when this is all over. And I need to have air around them.
All hail the slider. Or sliders? Either way, these are the way forward.
And I'm starting with the most perfect pair... fur lined.
Birkenstock Arizona Fur Black £114.99 fro Universe of Us
Alternatively there are these in the sale at ASOS.
Birkenstock Madrid big buckle fur slides in black were £115 now £80
The alternative is to go bright or go home (that'll be stay at home...).
These are a FABULOUS pick me up and for lifting your spirits now - it's
Birkenstock Arizona Eva Beetroot Purple £34.99
Birkenstock Arizona in Xinnia Orange £34.99
Birkenstock Arizona in Pink £34.99
Still *fun* and would look amazing with monochrome outfits to actually wear out and about when all this is over..
Birkenstock Arizona PAP Black White Dots in leather £69.99
With our sensible heads on now - these are a lot more neutral but still ideal to wear around the house. Team with a maxi dress or add a boho edge to a tailored suit (I'd wear with a tee rather than a shirt as you might run the risk of looking like you've just forgotten change your shoes otherwise... they need to vibe with something else in your outfit to make it look "on purpose" - does that make sense?? I've only seen my family in 7 days.. starting to lose my mind!!)
Birkenstock Arizona in Mink Suede from ASOS £75
Birkesntock big buckle Madrid leather sandals were £80 now £40
Different option at Topshop - these are very like the Maje ones I have from last year...
PERU black buckled footbed sandals were £32 now £29
Oh CALL OFF THE DOGS... I didn't see these ones... Come to Mama...

And now we're moving into other Birkie territory. These are marmite. I LOVE them. Whereas to other people, the whiff of Croc is too much... Croc schmoc. I don't think they do and I adore them.
Birkenstock Mules in Silver were £90 now £60
These aren't going to be to everyone's taste - like the above, but I LOVE them.
Birkenstock Amsterdam anthracite felt mules from ASOS £50
And these... Birkenstock from Boston mules in habana oiled leather clogs £95
And just in case you think you love them and are worried that they're actually hanging and everyone will laugh mercilessly at you in them... (who cares anyway...) BUT check out these from Isabel Marant...
Isabel Marant Mirvin Clogs from My Theresa were £425 now £212 with an extra 30% off at checkout
