Reporting back.... the things I do....

Oh DARN it. I had fully hoped to be able to go to Warehouse today and just try everything on and it all be "just ok".

Fat chance of that.  Clearly it would have been "just ok" if I hadn't needed anything.  But the fact I was only going in the interests of research and the only thing I had on my wish list was one jumper (see further down) and a black polo neck, none of which they had in stock.  So I just grabbed what I thought looked great and what for me are must haves for A/W.

So without further ado, here are my pics from what they had in store.  Do remember that my Warehouse is pretty nay very pants.   However I didn't to badly, as you can see.

All the prices are pre the discount code which is 25grazia for 25% off.

Turtle Neck Jumper £32  What's not to love - a lovely shade of pale charcoal grey.

Coated Skinnies. £42  Call off the dogs.  These are amazing.   Well they would be beyond amazing but they're just a tad on the short side for me.  Actually they'd be fine if I was wanting them slightly cropped, in fact they definitely would work.   On reflection, looking at the pics, they are PERFECT.

image

As you can see they're a fabulously high (but not too high) cut, perfect for hiding that omnipotent muffin.  The other reason I love them is that they're a proper sturdy jean style as opposed to a jegging.

image image

Totally on a denim roll and how did I not know about the High Waisted Skinnies from Warehouse?  Black on black - these are perfect.  The ideal black skinny.  I defy anyone to find better.  Perfectly high cut for those of a certain age who would rather have a glass of wine than a circuits class (not at 10am can I please just point out....), and actually a pretty good length for someone tall.  Yes, they are slightly skinnier than the coated jeans but they're still a really good quality thick denim which does give it more of a jeans feel again, as opposed to a jegging.

5 pocket high rise skinny in black £38

It was all going so well..... And then I tried on the strapless culottes jumpsuit.  To be honest, it wasn't as bad as I had anticipated.  In fact, I have to say, if I weren't quite so tall (honestly an inch or so shorter would be fine) but even then, I think I could make this work.

Culotte Jumpsuit £70

Right, yes that is my bra strap and this is the 10. (I would obviously wear a strapless bra...!)

image

And as you can see, it doesn't quite do up.  I do have a very wide back, hence often a 10 doesn't quite fit.  To be honest, with a bit of welly and help, I think I could have got it on but then the chance of me having boob or back fat hanging over the top would probably be high.

image

I then tried it on the 12 but that was too big.  This really does need to fit perfectly otherwise....

image

.....this can happen.  Hand in pocket and hey presto, the potential for nipples on show is high.  Just want you want for that Christmas party, no?

image

But I've left the best till last.  And DARN it, this is what has foxed me.  As much as I love the jeans and they will definitely be my replacement purchases for when mine die, I came across this coat and it's true love.

A coat you cry?  Do I need another coat?  Hell no.  Do I want this coat?  Hell yes.  In my defence this is dead ringer (ish..) to the Maxmara Teddy Bear coat from last year that a) was £1500 and b) was sold out.

Brown Oversized Teddy Coat £85

I sized up as I think this needs to be super oversized and I'm big.  So this is a 14 - originally I tried the 12 but it looked a bit skimpy and I think the more generous the coat looks in sizing, the more expensive it looks.

I also wanted to see this which was pointed out by some lovely Twitter friend.  I really really wanted to see this but they didn't have it.  Maybe I shall have to order it... I can always return it, can't I?

Grey Noir Jumper £40

So has anyone else bought anything?  I have to say I am SO over Mango et al that it was such a lovely treat to look at different things in Warehouse.  Can't wait to hear what others have bought... (oh and how many camel coats = too many?)

Outfit pics from last night to begin with.  Out for drinks with the girls, lots of prosecco, lots of chat, perfect night out.  Head was delicateish this morning...

  1. I swear by Warehouse black superfit skinnies - they keep their shape, and although not officially high rise they do come up a long way! A bit long for me at 5ft 6, but I just turn them up. A bit pricey at £48 though. My score this week was a pair of pale blue Frame skinnies from a boutique in Brighton - originally £215, down to £50 in the bargain basket by the door! Supposedly two sizes too big, but actually a perfect fit - I think they must come up small...

  3. Oohh I have been crushing on Warehouse since the summer when I nearly moved in. Saw this very Noir jumper in John Lewis today and it's lovely but I feel a tad over priced, esp if no discount (tho JL were price matching of course)
Coat = must have for you Kat... just think of us shorties who would look like Teddy Ruxpin if we wore it and spare us.

which doesn't look much in the pics, but they sucked me in with a preview email. It looked pretty fabulous on the model. It came into stock today, so I've gone for it. Crossing my fingers it's a keeper!

    1. Saw that in store in the grey and it did look lovely - I'm not sure their knitwear is worth full price though. Having said that, I haven't seen cable knit jumpers in many places so it's probably worth it for that alone!
