Who turned off Summer?

Following on from yesterday, if there was ever an excuse to treat yourself to new boots in the sale, it's the fact that you can wear them immediately.

And oh ankle boots, how I love thee.  I wear these all year round.  The one thing you can guarantee I will get a lot of wear out is a pair of ankle boots and a pair of white trainers.  Hence it's ridiculously easy to always justify a pair of these.  In all colour, in a walkable heel, in all styles.  Yes I love a classic boot but I also have a soft spot for those with a bit of personality.  Well that's what I call them.  The husband refers to them as "are they a joke" boots and the children affectionally call them the "you're not actually going to wear them out" boots.  All the charming, my family... yours?

Sod 'em.  I love them, they bring a smile to my face and they are super practical.  I wear them with jeans of all varieties - oh I could list my whole wardrobe but I essentially wear them with everything.

And all year round too.  Summer that decides to have a hiatus for a week or too (it did sort of over exert itself last week and is clearly recharging its batteries somewhere, whilst its cousin Autumn pitches up as a supply season) = the perfect excuse to invest in a new pair in the sales.

I've popped my sales boot cherry as I mentioned yesterday with the purchase of my Marant bargains (I did get 77% off!!) in the sale at Harvey Nichols so if you can get to a store you may grab a slightly lower price.

But for the ease of shopping from your armchair with a glass of wine, I have found some gems that it's worth looking at.

Speaking of black boots from my favourite French designer...

Faded black Suede Deyissa boots from Isabel Marant was £340 now £204

Last year I absolutely loved my metallic heel boots and these would be a great purchase for both now and into the Autumn.

Metallic heel leather ankle boots were £89.99 now £49.99

JW Anderson Patent leather trimmed stud boots were £535 now £214 from The Outnet

Black with stitching detail at Seven Boot Lane in their sale.

Hawaii Black Leather Mid Calf boot was £175 now £80

Tan versions and their beige related counterparts.

Deyissa Suede ankle boots from Isabel Marant were £385 now £231

Classic Newbury suede ankle boots from Rag & Bone were £375 now £187.50

Chestnut leather at Isabel Marant in the sale were £445 now £267

Brown leather now - perfect for those of you who don't like black but want something dark and versatile.  Chocolate is the ideal alternative.

Hawaii Brown Leather Boots were £175 now £80

And then the more unusual.  Navy.  I have the Newburys in Navy and they are so incredibly useful.

Snake effect suede ankle boots from Maje were £345 now £172.50

Navy again at Boden (these are rare by the way - I have the Rag & Bone Newburys above in navy and have had them for about four years and they still get dragged out every season).

Boho Boot from Boden were £120 now £72

And then the statement boots.  Boots that need no introduction and are perfect for those days when your outfit consists of your pared back, classic pieces and your footwear does all the talking.

Breaking you in gently... with black embroidered boots.  Too. Cute.

Ants Bug Embroidery Boots were £69 now £30

And in the grey.

Grey Ants Bug Embroidery Boots from Topshop were £69 now £30

Monochrome Honey Snake Boots from Seven Boot Lane were £180 now £60

Another pair of boots that I invested in last year and have big plans for are a silver pair.

And I could go on and on but I have a dinner to go to this evening (can't WAIT), so here I am in an old pair today - like I say, they are just the footwear that keep on giving.  You can wear them again and again and again!

Jeans - McGuire Denim
Top - M&S
Boots - Boden
Bag - Chloe

I am off to get dressed into I have NO idea what, but you can guarantee that it will be with a pair of ankle boots (it so will actually).

  2. Have you tried Acne?? The Jensen boot.. (although they are really pointy...) hmm really flat you want? If the above Marant heel is too high then the Dicker will also be too high, ditto the Ash Jalouse.... Let me know if the R&B ones aren't ok xx

  3. Just got the bug boots in grey from Toppers and they are very comfortable and gorgeous. They do come up big and are pointy but comfortable , a little high on the ankle for me but I'm keeping them as love the colour and look great with a shorter dress - thanks!
