Sales Cock Up Take Two

I don't quite know how this has happened.  I'm still partly in shock to be honest. It's something I never ever thought I'd have to admit but....

..... I came across something today in the Zara sale that I've never seen full price.

Faint.

Clearly it's impossible.  It has to be impossible.  I could win Mastermind with Zara as my specialist subject.

But lo and behold, whilst doing another sweep of the Zara sale instore (still woeful woeful reductions), I came across the most utterly delectable pair of printed jeans I have seen all season.

And here in lies the Cock Up aspect.  They had the most enormous pile of them - I plundered with glee (I have witnesses), frothing at the mouth as these would fit into my wardrobe seamlessly.  Oh the outfits I could make with them.  Giddy, giddy, giddy.

Which quickly turned to crushing disappointment as the massive stash of jeans was made up of XS (couldn't fit my right big toe into) and L (which were a large Zara large - typical) I am beside myself.  I NEED these jeans in my life.  Here is a pic of them.  If anyone happens to see them, if they could email me or comment (in a S or M), I will try and get hold of them (ideally in the South East!!)  They're a grey/peach/blush snakeskin print.  I have definitely never seen them otherwise I would have hauled myself across the sales floor, elbows at the ready, to get them.

I did get a couple of other things whilst returning my tuxedo blazer (boo hoo - none left in stock but I refuse to keep faulty goods), one of which is the most luscious Louis Vuitton inspired broderie anglaise sleeveless blouse - more of that tomorrow.

Now HUGE apologies I didn't get to Next.  But but but - I am returning tomorrow with RR3 in search of a Mike The Knight Costume.  Which doesn't exist.  Which should mean an interesting trip with the three year old who, when he asked today if I'd managed to find him said costume after I picked him up from nursery and was told no, replied, "Oh buggers".  Great.

My excuse for the lack of Next shopping was that I was having the most wonderful new season (I say new - it's basically new summer season as opposed to anything full on A/W but hey we're gong to have an Indian Summer, si?) lustathon.  I have one little tit bit give away before I do a big blog tomorrow on my new High Street Crush.  One purchase down, a bounty of possibilities on the cards.  One of my besties bought pretty much the entire shop - can't wait to hear how it all is!  But more on that tomorrow.  With the Next jumper, I promise, promise, promise.

So here is a hot tip of a bag.  Just the prettiest clutch.  And which fits an Iphone in.  I was gobsmacked last Christmas when buying a clutch at how many you can't even fit a phone in. Seriously?  What the chuff is the point of that?  Reiss were the worst offenders.  Mine from Coast is hardly great to be honest.  Definitely style over substance.  Like playing the bloody Krypton Factor every time I try and close it.

But this little beauty is tardis like.  Gorgeous.  And will be perfect with my nude strappy Zara sandals. I haven't purchased yet but I can't see me not doing so.  Looks like it should cost 10 times as much as well.  Great great quality.  Peach Diamonte hard clutch bag from Warehouse.  (which, as much as they had some fab stuff in which I'll list, Warehouse isn't my new Crush)

Finishing with what I wore today - continuing my Resolution (I so have to be careful as I'm such an eejit in real life, I frequently call it a Revolution.  Moron.  People think I'm trying to be funny.  I'm not - I'm just having a thick moment) and wearing my trousers that I would normally be keeping for best.  What on earth for?!

Beige silky tee - H&M
Navy, black and beige leopard print jeans - Whistles
Black blazer with suedette elbow patches - Taylor Stephens
Tan snakeskin ballet flats - Primark (I'm not sure I ever posted these - bought on a mercy mission to London just before my holiday.  Fabulous for £5!!!)
Large resin tooth necklace - Mango
Sunglasses - Tom Ford
Cheetah print ponyskin shopper - Zara

I shall be back tomorrow, I promise!  In the meantime, if anyone would like to hazard a guess at my new High Street Crush - a potential contender to the Zara crown (well not really really but certainly I shall be supplementing my Zara wardrobe from there this A/W if their late summer stock is anything to go by) - I'd love to hear.

  1. How can you be arsed changing your bag all the time? Or do you just tip all the crap from one into another? Or do you have a secret anal bag organiser thingy??

    1. just get an 'inner' (platic bag) and transfer that, easy! :)

    2. Yup I have an "inner" bag - mine's actually a really old Bobby Brown make up bag that fits all my lipsticks, keys, kids raisins, tissues etc etc in, and I just grab that and my purse and bung in another bag.

    1. oh thank you! I didn't see this in time (moron me) but tbh I needed to try on as actually I wasn't sure whether I was a medium or a small. Zara sizing being as totally random as it. But thank you so so much - totally appreciate it xx

    1. noooo I didn't! They are lovely but I've managed to buy a whole other little haul instead and now can't justify new jeans! I'm being virtuous......

  4. They had the maxi skirt version of it as well which I bought and then returned as I had to hoick it up over by boobs as it was so long and I eventually ended up returning it. I loved it so much I made them take the last skirt in the store off the dummy so I could buy it but I understand your torment - it is a gorgeous print.

    1. Oh gosh yes I remember the maxi skirt -it was absolutely divine. Another purchase I couldn't justify, particularly as I have such a dunderhead issue with maxi skirts and shoes. I just look a moron with boots on with them so they're so summer specific. And we haven't even had a summer. But the more I think about it the more I now want it. Oh bugger!!!!

  5. The saber/resin tooth necklace is cool! I saw something similar at Vince Camuto but it was so over priced I put it back down, not without at least some bargain! I ended up buying something from Zara instead. Can't wait to see this new crush of yours and whatever it is, I am sure it'll be fabulous.. you always have fab taste in my honest opinion.

  6. Our Zara had those trousers in stock back in May. Love the print, tried them on but they look ridiculous on me :-( I live abroad or I would have offered to get you a pair and post them.

I think your new high street crush is Massimo Dutti. Love that shop!

    1. Oh thank you so much - that's such a lovely lovely post. And I know BOO BLOODY SCHMOOOOOO that there's no Mike the Knight costume. I totally draw the line at character t-shirts which I believe you can buy. We have the old version of that from a friend but we now have a whole ensemble of plastic Knight crap that we got from The Entertainer. I'm sure I could buy the same from the 99p shop - it is such piss poor quality but for a tenner - he is over the moon!

He now wants all the MTK figures etc for his birthday. hmmmmmmmm

  9. As you love Zara. Have you looked at its sister site Uterque.com?

    1. I have looked at it at the beginning of the season and I have to say I wasn't blown away by it. Struck me as being rather expensive for what it was. I also seem to recall there was a high postage and then you had to pay for returns. A massive no no in my book. But I'll check it out again definitely. Thank you!

  10. Maybe Mango is the new crush? They have those trousers in Dublin in M

    1. no, no Mango but another Spanish counterpart! I have a love/hate relationship with Mango. I used to live in Spain years ago and probably preferred Mango to Zara but recently I think Zara have left them for dust. Having said that, I adore their jewellery!

  12. Sorry about brief message, feeding the troops and trying to post is not a good combination. No battery on my phone earlier but there were definitely smalls and mediums in stock. Not sure when I will be next at the Trafford Centre but I am sure they will post out to you.

  15. Ta da!!!!! I got the jeans.....finally......the ones you are wearing and modelled previously. Yes, I couldn't get my big toe in the 26 so finally they returned to whistles and I bagged a pair. My husband looked on dubiously and daughter told me they were horrid. I ignored their advise and once they saw them on they admitted they are lovely! Would never have tried them if you hadn't blogged about them!!! Keep blogging!!!

    1. Oh so pleased! They're gorgeous aren't they? Yes, they've bought them out again this season after having them as a limited edition for the S/S. On the short side for me for winter unfortunately - will struggle to wear boots with them during the day. Poo. But you enjoy them!
