Couldn't not post this bargain

Well, to be fair, it's only a bargain if  you love Boden jeans.  I was converted last season and completely coincidentally, have put on today my pear drop (code for yellow apparently...) ones.  It has taken some getting used to wearing them but I am now quite addicted to them with black.  The 80's seem to be creeping back into our wardrobes more and more every year and so mixing a colour with black, doesn't seem to be as criminal as it was once perceived to be.

I like to think of it as a modern take on monochrome (I appreciate that since it's a colour with black it's not remotely monochrome but I'm throwing in a massive dose of artistic license, ie flannel.)

Anyway, it's clearly written in the stars that I have more Boden jeans in my wardrobe as no sooner was I dropping my small boys off at football (thank the lord for Charlton Athletic Community Trust.  Summer courses from 10 till 3pm, 5 days a week for the princely sum of £48 per week.  I can't possibly get across how they are saving my bacon.  And my builders from an exceptionally keen to "help" 6 year old) than I get my daily Offer of the Day email from Boden.

And hey presto, it's 25% off separates which includes their new super skinny jean.  The main reason I loved the skinnies from last season is that they were cut for normal women (ie slightly higher in the waist) as opposed to so many skinnies on the market which are designed for those who haven't made proper use yet of their child bearing hips.  Oh hello muffin.  So not only do I have no pelvic floor, I have a spare tyre hanging over the top of my jeans and three small children who also owe me a new liver. (I swear to god I wouldn't drink as much if we didn't have school holidays).  Thanks.

Hence I am beyond intrigued to try their new super skinny jeans.   Which they now do in a Petite as well as a Long.  A number of you previously have asked if I find the Long long enough and actually yes, it's not bad at all. (being 5ft 10 with out of proportion leg length on top)  Especially with it being a skinny fit - it doesn't have to cover a heel or anything so an inch at ankle level isn't so much an issue.  But to be fair, these do come right over my ankle bone.

This is them in all their glory.

I'm loving this bright blue colour for the winter.  I think with navy or black (or both together - yum) these would be just gorgeous.

The raven is an infinitely useful shade of charcoal by the looks of things.

Have to say, whilst I think I may have slightly overdosed on wine last year (having started the season saying I didn't like it and ending with a wardrobe full of it - oh yes, me all over.  Tool), I can see these being super useful, again with navy, black and grey.  And taupe - love this colour with taupe.  Or the new pastel pink that seems to be everywhere, especially coat wise.  You see how easy it is to talk yourself into something, merely in a stream of garbled junk?

Plus they're called Fig.  And I have a bit of an obsession with fig....

Whilst we're here - navy - ho hum.  Who doesn't need a pair of navy trousers....

So here's hoping they're a great fit - I can't wait to try them.  Would be rude not to with the 25% offer which ends today (15th August)

Here I am with my (much looser I believe) pear drop skinnies on.  They still have them in most sizes in the sale and they're now only £19.60!  I can randomly see myself wearing them more in the A/W than I have in the S/S.  Other colours also still available at various reduced prices.

Black swing jersey top - Whistles
Pear drop (yellow!) skinnies - Boden
Black ankle strap leather sandals - Zara
Earrings - bought from a friend
Black Diego bag - Alexander Wang
Sunglasses - Dior

Now I know I was supposed to do my wish list and I'm working hard on it (because it's such taxing work, obviously).  This is just a sneaky extra as I can't resist a bargain.

  1. I ordered the pear drop ones when they hit £19, such gorgeous jeans but sadly I'm not as tall & slim as you so they did me no favours whatsoever! Existing codes normally stack with COTD but not found a UK one which works yet, grrr

  5. Here is my dilemma, these are undoubtedly cheap, but I am also um-ing and ah-ing over a silk Gucci trousers on Ebay that will require a £25 bid to win them, but they were originally over £1000.

    1. £25 for Gucci trousers? No way! Although only great if they fit! These you can send back if they're not right. Let us know how the Gucci ones turn out though!

  6. I love coloured jeans but can't wear skinny jeans as my legs are too chunky, have to go up a size to get my legs in them then the waist is huge. Last week I found some lovely plum coloured straight leg jeans in Sainsburys for a bargain £14!

Right. Joules. Hmmmmm. I live in a very "Joules" area. There are a lot of polo shirts around. I love them for my boys so i do purchase from there!

The dress - do you know what - I love the print, I think the shape is probably very flattering to most people (a "forced" waist as opposed to an elasticated or tied one) actually works well for most shapes. It's not something that I'd probably wear but that's because it's not particularly my style. It would be a highly dull world if we all wore the same thing. I think that if you love it, then you should get it. I hope that's not too wishy washy, as I've no idea what your style is - basically I don't hate the dress at all and I know a number of people it would look absolutely fab on. Just wouldn't work for me. xxx
