More Autumn/Winter items of wonder.
And this time it's thanks to Hush. I am rather gutted that I'm on hols and not at home to savour the moment of flicking through the new catalogue with a cup of coffee. Pure bliss, although to be fair, it's a pretty darn good alternative being by the beach with the family.
To be fair, I was also hugely privileged to get a preview of their Autumn/Winter 14 collection during a Press Lunch at the house of the founder of Hush, the lovely Mandy. (whilst the clothes were stunning, I will admit to having the worst house envy Ever.)
A couple of photos of the collection as a whole. *Poncey moment alert* This is where I think it becomes clear that sticking to a limited colour palette for your wardrobe each season works. It makes it so much easier to put outfits together and co-ordinate from what you have - as opposed to buying singular outfits that can't be worn with anything else. This gives your wardrobe so much more versatility and gives you many more options of what to wear!
Hush is one of those companies that I love, from where literally you could buy your entire wardrobe. (it's another challenge - go on go on, I know you want to try. That's my half hour sorted later on when the kids are killing each other and The Husband has retired to the loo with the paper to escape everyone. Please tell me it's not just mine that does that?!)
Mandy has expanded their collection year on year and now, there is honestly nothing you couldn't get from them. They have made it ridiculously easy to embody that perfect Hush look - relaxed dressing that is effortlessly chic.
And to make it even more appealing there is currently 10% off the collection AUGPREV with free delivery (and they do free returns). Well frankly, it would be rude not to have a teensy, tiny look........
Starting with my favourite items that I found on the day and I will admit that whilst the Autumnal shades of teal and berry are stunning, my heart lies in a monochrome world. I simply adore the elegance of black, white and grey with a hint of something else thrown in to ward off the Goth comments from The Husband.
The knitwear this year from Hush is divine and there are two jumpers (or ten) that I have my eye on. These for me, embody the perfect combo between a sweatshirt and a jumper. Not as serious as a normal jumper but dressier than a sweatshirt.
Dear Wardrobe - be afraid - be very afraid....
Starting with my two favourites (ok so to be honest, I would be pushed to make a decision...)
Winter Stars Jumper in grey marl £75
Absolutely loved this jumper - the textured, the shape, the colours. Perfect on its own or layered with a shirt or simple jersey tops.
Collingwood Jumper £89
Covering all my bases with this block jumper £99
They also do this in a dress which I think would be so so useful for the A/W - sling on ankle boots and a biker jacket for a slightly dressier look. Am also loving with the idea of opaques, my black ponyskin skater shoes and an oversized black coat for an Autumnal dress down day.
Colourblock Dress £59
For my nod to colour, I love beyond love their v neck jumpers and it would definitely be a toss up between these two colours.
Classic V Jumper - Canary Yellow £65 Definitely looking at yellow in a new light after seeing it teamed with all this grey and black. Also think it wouldn't look too shabby with the copious amounts of navy I have hanging around. This may well be up there as the winner for my A/W colour injection....
However I do love the pink - although I think yellow might love me more than pink.
In the beetroot marl £69
Who doesn't need a(nother) Breton jumper and this one in black and ecru - just perfect. Will go with simply everything. Yum to the idea of this with a black leather skirt and ankle boots... ditto over skinny jeans, or an A line mini skirt and opaques, over grey cargo pants.... how useful wouldn't this be?
Stripe Jumper from Hush in black and ecru £75
The ultimate in cosy throw ons has to be the Nessa Cardi - in Cloud/Aubergine/Pink £110 Perfect with your grey, black or tan colour bases. Simply gorgeous.
They have absolutely come up trumps again with bottoms - after the success last season of the cargo pants and the boyfriend jeans - I cannot wait to try these.
Coated Biker Jeans £79
And a winter version of the summer cargo trousers with the addition of a zip and in a darker shade of grey. Must. Have.
Zip Cargo Trousers in Charcoal £79
Muse Skirt in Black £49 And I have to say I the jumper, the Goldie 2 Stitch Jumper in Ecru at £80 is also on my wishlist. Dare I say it, dare I even say it, I quite like it with the leggings... I have never been a legging fan, I will fess up right now and admit. I have Am Ap ones that I spent a fortune on and wore a handful of times - maybe I should get them out and give them another go (this may need work on)
They also do this in a delicious teal shade they've called Mallard. A wonderful blue that would work so so well with your more basic neutrals of black, grey or navy.
Muse skirt in Mallard £49
Now I'm going to leave dresses for another day as I'm having a total dress moment but as a sneak preview of their beyond easy to wear collection, this one tops the polls for me.
Quilted Dress - Black £49
And whilst we're here and I HAVE to go as I have a beach to explore again and stones to paint (don't ask - suffice to say that Pebble Pens are the best invention ever).
My injection of yellow, could also come from this fantastic scarf that I am totally coveting.
Plain Herringbone Scarf in canary £35
Or the Honeycomb scarf £40 - doing it all for you. Just add black.
And finally - my ultimate accessory from last year. Now so many people say they struggle to wear a hat, especially in the winter. My tip would be, think of it is a scarf or any other accessory. You need to wear them and wear them with pride. I love this grey one.
Fedora hat £40
Love this post. This style is my absolute favourite for winter months. Comfy, layered, warm, stylish. I don't seem to quote achieve it though. Must try harder x
ReplyDeleteIt's so so so easy to wear once you get the basics. I honestly think Hush do laid back chic better than anyone else. xx
DeleteLots of lovely things from Hush again. Really like the quilted dress and biker jeans...
ReplyDeleteI could wear it all in a heartbeat! x
DeleteIt's all stunning - the styling is perfect too - the photos are so enticing. The blanket cardigan is PERFECT - I HOPE they ship to the US?;)
ReplyDeleteJ they ship worldwide. You will be addicted I promise xx
DeleteI'll be going through the website tonight! But also - what are pebble pens? it sounds like something worth exploring for my stone collecting, craft obsessed daughter. A quick google didn't shed any light...
ReplyDeleteYes, the Hush stuff is gorgeous, but we are currently on hols in Dorset and pebble pens sound ideal, more details pls!
DeletePebble pens are actually called Posca Markers - http://www.posca.com/uk/all-material-markers
DeleteThank you!
DeleteThat pic of you in the hat is just fab, you look so happy !
ReplyDeleteOh thank you xxx
DeleteI wonder how long those coated biker jeans are...did you see them in the flesh? Might have to enquire....
ReplyDeleteI did and they look pretty long. I'm not sure they're in stock yet, but I'll find out as soon as I can xx
DeleteLooking for the cardigan of dreams this autumn, something plain with pockets that I can sling on for warmth..... Looked at he dressing gown one but bad review already, the cocoon one looks like a possibility........
ReplyDeleteOh that's a shame about the review - is it from this year though or last year? I will definitely be doing more sling on cardigan blogs - I have a feeling I shall be into my knitwear big time this year.... Last year was the year of the coat - is this the year of the cardigan?! x
DeleteGorgeous gorgeous gorgeous! That quilted dress has my name all over it :-)
ReplyDeleteTis all divine, isn't it? And do you mean the sleeve or sleeveless one?!X
DeleteI love this collection and have been browsing through it all day! As I havent ordered from hush before, would you suggest sizing down at all? I'm thinking mostly of the knitwear.
ReplyDeleteHmm I think if you're a Med, I would hedge for a Small med as opposed to a Large med - clear as mud?! xxx
DeleteOh my word, this collection looks just fabulous. I'm heading to Chicago in 2 days to visit my sister (aka shop my little heart out) and I'm quite sure I won't find anything as nice as this. As for that photo of you in the hat .. you should change all your bio pics to that immediately! It's just gorgeous and sooo happy x
ReplyDeleteAt least you know it will still be here when you get back! And thank you darling - tis a fab (professional!) photo xxx
DeleteOh I do love a titfer! In fact I've just bought a grey tweed trilby for winter that I'm itching to wear :). I feel this autumn/winter my wardrobe is going to be filled with a lot of grey & navy with yellow/mustard/citrine/chartreuse accents, love it! X
ReplyDeletePerfect perfect perfect!!
DeleteWait a minute. Where's the Hush girl? They've changed the model - this won't do! Speaking of which, I thought that photo of you in the hat was the hush campaign - seriously pulling off the model look there! Yes my DH also disappears to the loo for huge chunks of time!
ReplyDeleteAHA! This was the first campaign that they haven't filmed in Australia - they filmed it in Amsterdam. She's pretty pretty too though no? And I LOVE you forever with that hat comment xxx
DeleteI too could literally buy my entire wardrobe from Hush! The only other time I have felt like that about a clothing brand was Joseph in the '90s! I will definitely be buying a few key pieces and only wish I could indeed buy it all!
ReplyDeleteYup, you could literally dress head to foot from there, couldn't you?! It's all so sumptuous and decadent looking but with just a pretty easy on the wallet price point. I can't wait to start properly planning A/W now! x
DeleteTotally agree re the photo of you in the Hush hat-it really is a gorgeous shot!
ReplyDeleteOh thank you!! xx
DeleteGreat post and by the way I love both your looks! Now on my wish-list is the sweater dress.. Glad this came back in style!

I have to say I have a new interest in the sweater dress style. A whole new way of casual dress dressing x
DeleteI love the throw on cardi but couldn't stomach that price. I used to get the catalogues in the post, never ordered so not sure if they still send them. Be interested to have a flick through now!
ReplyDeleteooh make sure you get them again - they are too gorgeous not to drool over. x
Deleteoh no I LOVE that cardi! Properly, properly adore it. And yes, the yellow accents are definitely a winner for me.... And with a hat, the secret it - you have to own it. As naff as that sounds, it's true! x
ReplyDeleteI had to scroll back & double check if it was you in the pic with the hat! You belong in their look book Kat! The quilted dress is really cute & I love the hexagon scarf too! Ax
ReplyDeleteOh I LOVE you! Will pay you later chickie xxxx
