A little something up my sleeve

So this is a blog post with a difference.  Something I've never looked at before but when I was asked if I'd like to team up and work on a project with Seven Seas and their major new beauty product Perfect7 Renewal Advanced, it seemed like too good an opportunity to turn down.  Especially given that the product contains an exciting beauty ingredient called Ceramosides, which are scientifically proven to reduce the appearance of wrinkles in 60 days and leave skin looking smooth and hydrated.

After all, I have absolutely nothing to lose (apart from wrinkles, fingers crossed) and hopefully a lot to gain.

Seven Seas Perfect7 Renewal Advanced £39.99 per 30 day supply

First up, whilst ageing is a privilege denied to many and for sure, the older I get, the more grateful I am to be here and the more content I am with my lot.  However that doesn't mean that I don't still want to be the best version of myself.  As I always say, it's not necessarily about looking younger, it's about ageing gracefully and not completely changing the way I look, but feeling amazing about myself whilst still looking like me.

And every year, that takes a little bit more time - and money - than it did the year before.  So whilst that has predominantly been with creams and serums and yes, for the past couple of years I have extolled the virtues of a bit of baby Botox - I was keen to try a product that supports our skin from within.

A little bit about the product - it's the UK's first of its kind oral supplement to contain Ceramosides (a natural source of ceramides) which is scientifically proven to help reduce the appearance of wrinkles in 60 days, for more hydrated looking skin from within.

The scientific bit... ceramides comprise 50% of the skin's moisture barrier but the levels drop as we age.  Ceramides are like the 'cement' that binds together protective cells in the outermost skin layer.  An easy analogy would be that ceramides are the mortar between bricks if bricks were your skin cells.

Perfect7 Renewal Advanced, which is the pack that I am trialling, contain a Ceramosides capsule, a comprehensive multivitamin and mineral table to support overall health and well-bring and a Seven Seas Omega 3 capsule with DHA to provide additional health benefits.

Which is all very well good but let's cut to the chase.  Am I expecting to look like Olivia Palermo after the 60 day trial?  No (although it would be very nice...).

But I am hopefully expecting to see an improvement in firmness and smoothness.  I guess, the proof will be if other people notice and if I feel better too - well that would be a massive tick in the right box!

I will be back later in November to give my final verdict (I have already started taking the tablets) but till then - let me know if you see a difference or not..)

Picture of 6 weeks into trial.  I can definitely already see a difference.

Soooo this is no filter, no foundation or concealer and NO moisturiser.

This is a sponsored post written in partnership with Seven Seas.  Each pack contains a 30 day supply.  Food supplements do not substitute a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle.

  1. Really? Nothing for 10 days, then an advert? Not worth bothering with this blog any more.

    1. Huge apologies for any disappointment but I have been on holiday for the last 10days. It does happen to be the first time I have taken a break from writing the blog in 8 years. Which is a pretty extensive body of work that I've produced for free for people to read, so personally, I feel that a break was justified. I also apologise if a sponsored post offends but like I have said before, I will only promote products that I believe in and use myself.

But seeing as you're not bothering with reading anymore, I should maybe save my typing!

Apologies (for anyone else reading) for any offense caused.

  3. Heavens forbid that bloggers actually make some money from their work! If you don’t like it then don’t read it. Also don’t you take a holiday from your work? Let’s be reasonable about things please.

    1. Thank you for your reply. I do think it's easy to forget that they can read the blogs for free and the amount of content produced over the past 8yrs has been extensive with very few sponsored posts over the majority of the years. Plus there are absolutely no other adverts on the blog to raise revenue (as I personally find them highly highly irritating) so yes - I do need to get paid to continue to produce the volume of content plus it's a REALLY good product!)

    2. Totally agree with Pippa!
Anyone who follows on IG would know Kat was on holiday, and why shouldn't she be! The rest of us who work hard expect to enjoy our holiday without work encroaching too much!
If I'm truthful, then I would love Kat to post whilst on holiday, but that's just me being totally selfish (cos I enjoy the blog so much!), I don't expect it!
It is a free blog, and when you think that you would pay for a magazine and there'd still be adverts in, I have no problems with this at all. I actively want Kat to make a living at this, because it means she can keep producing content I want to read!

  4. Are you absolutely sure you can see a difference in wrinkles after popping a pill for 6 weeks? I thought the scientific evidence had pretty much proven that there is no supplement in the world that will erase wrinkles and that retinol (prescription only) is the only existing product with empirical evidence of being effective. This really must be a miracle product then, unless they're just paying you to say so. Can you link to any evidence-based documentation on the effectiveness of ceramosides?

    1. All I know is that personally, I have definitely seen an improvement in the texture of my skin. I have not had to use any form of concealer or foundation, I should have had my Botox 2 months ago and postponed it due to taking these tablets in the interests of actually seeing if they work - and the wrinkles have not got any worse, as they usually would. I also have had no hormonal breakouts and the irritation around my eyes has cleared up.

Are they a solution on their own for skin improvement? No I think you also do need work from the outside in. But this is the longest I have gone without Botox in three years and my skin looks better than when I Started the course so do I think they work? Yes!

I don't think they're a replacement for my Botox but it will mean that I will be able to spread out my appointments, which can only be a good thing.

Hope that helps! As I say - I can only give my personal opinion xx

  5. So £480 a year for these tablets. Do you think I should buy theses or put the money towards some BOTOX?

    1. I postponed my botox appointnment. Which says it all really. It's not the only product I use - I still absolutely use a good skincare regime too - but the texture of my skin has definitely improved.

I do think though that it's a combination of products that work for me - but it's probably worth trying for a 60 day trial (not sure I'd buy a whole year up front without trying it first!!)

  6. I love your blog! Wish that everyone would message each other with only the words they would wish to have written to themselves. Have a good week :)

  7. Looking forward to seeing the final results in November! Being a total wuss, I'd far rather take vitamins than have botox.

  8. I think the fact it’s really helped with the eczema on your eye is praise itself. You’re right, I’ve not noticed that in ages so something is definitely better. Your skin always looks good x

  9. Its great that you are posting about something that helps in reducing wrinkles (be it sponsored or not).Do you think this would work work on my mom? She is above 50 and I don't want her to get any type of problems when using this.
