Am confident these are not a classic.

Dr Dolittle, move over, I'm in.

All the animals, all the jumpers, bring it on.  Dr Dolittle would be collecting these, one for each of the Autumn season.  Although maybe not all of them as guess what - these aren't cheap.  But I have found some bargain versions (ok I've found bargain) but I've also found some pretty grim more expensive ones to make us feel better (not entirely sure why that should make us feel better but I cannot be the only one who sees something gopping adn things YES - just saved £220.  Fess up... This can be filed under "reasons why my husband think I'm nuts".)

Ok now this does nothing for me.  For £170 are you kidding?  But then I'm pretty sure that oether people will think the same about my tiger ones.  Perhaps doesn't help that I'm not a fan of cats and this one looks like something you get on pyjamas that I'm not sure grown women should wear.

Paul & Joe Sister Knitted Jumper with Cat Motif £170.

If you love cats then this may well float your boat though.  Shan't be making its way into my basket.. (although I do like the navy)

ASOS Jumper with Cat Elbow Patches £20

It appears cats are the flavour of the day.

Natalie embellished cotton sweater was £295 now £147.50

You see, I say all that and then as per usual, I find one that I really rather like.  And it's one of the cheapest as well which is a real shocker.  Ok so I clearly have been indoctrinated by our feline friends - maybe I don't really rather like it but don't mind it.  In my head it's *obviously* very Gucci.  Obviously...

Cat Knitted Jumper from Miss Selfridge £35

Not forgetting the humble dog.

Abercrombie & Fitch Dog Print Knit Jumper £58

And then slightly way out there.  But starting with one that I definitely would wear.  Love this.

Not forgetting that at Very Exclusive there seems to be 30% off using the code KPAGK.

McQ Alexander McQueen Swallow Crew Neck Jumper in grey and black from Very Exclusive £180

Ditto this one.  I appreciate I shouldn't but I do.  On looking at it again, I really really shouldn't at all, should I?!  But I'd completely wear this ("files under To Watch in Sales").

Sonia by Sonia Rykiel Intarsia Raccoon Jumper £220

Zebra in sequins (not something I ever thought I'd type) at French Connection £85

Emma embellished intarsia jumper was £245 now £122.50

But if you prefer less moggy and more serious cat then look no further.  This is where my heart lies.  There's something about a tiger or a leopard that just doesn't seem so comedy.   Yes it's just a bigger cat but... ok so there's absolutely no rhyme nor reason for why I prefer these.  I just do.

And the more obscure the better.  I don't even like purple but I LOVE this.  Made far more palatable with the 30% off above....

PS by Paul Smith Leopard Jumper in Purple from Very Exclusive £195

This, well... let's just say I prefer the one above.

Tiger Knit Embroidered Jumper from French Connection £69

But then randomly I'm found a man's one which I think is pretty ace.  The fact it's monochrome is obviously super appealing.

ASOS jumper with fluffy Tiger £30 (doesn't look overly fluffy to me, fear not).

But the two that I have snagged and am ridiculously happy with are these.  Big cats rule.  Quality wise at two ends of the spectrum but both will get worn a lot this season.  You have been warned...

Starting with the H&M one that I wore the other day.  Size down.  This is a Medium and it's enormous.

Knitted Polo neck jumper from H&M £14.99

And then the beauty that is the green Stella McCartney one I got from Bicester last week.  I was invited for the day with the British Wool Collective and thought it was only right that I bought a wool jumper then.

Untitled

Can't find it online at all - it's old season but they do still have lots at Bicester.  They come in two sizes, the more fitted and an oversized version.  I loved the green, camel and grey which happened to come in the fitted size which suited me down to the ground.

So much so I wore it today.

Black pleat knit skirt - hush
Black Susanna boots - Chloe
Black Half moon bag - APC
Burgundy leather bomber jacket - Gerard Darel

One thing I think we can agree is that these are going to divide.  Be it the concept, be it your choice of animal.  Some will be vomming in their mouths, others will be diving for their credit cards.  I'm somewhere in the middle and may stick with my two big cat versions (oh famous famous last words... They don't call me Dooley for nothing.  They don't at all by the way.  I don't think so anyway).

So are you feeling a tad queasy after these or could you give a home to any of them?

  1. I think my toddler daughter has some kittens on her pyjamas like the first couple....
Love your Bicester treat and adore the H&M one although the husband looked at me as though I was insane when I stopped to look at it in the window last week! x

    1. I can't get my head around the cat ones BUT I'm sure there are those who would say the Big Cat ones are awful!

The H&M one is gorgeous. And yes, my husband looked at me as I'd grown two heads when I showed him both of mine. What do they know?!

  2. I do really love the swallows one, it's gorgeous. I like you H&M one you have and it looks great on you but I don't think I'd get away with wearing it without my boys all laughing at me...

    1. Mine actually loved it. Ok apart from the husband. He did nothing to suppress his mirth.

  3. Ah this post has cheered me up no end. Love the Stella one and 'think' I love the H&M one but would I have the balls to wear it? Perhaps not as the hubby and kids would probably pee their pants each time I wore it. Not sure what some of the designers have been consuming whilst designing some of the above.... My 6 year olds favourite nightie has a cat on it like jumper number one 😀

  4. Have to say I'm a bit surprised not to spot the grey fleece ones with wolves on...
As I work with horses I kind of feel a bit of a dick wearing anything with animals on. I even ended up binning my J Crew sweatshirt with horses on it because it made me feel about 8 again (but not in a good way). I actually like a couple of these (your Bicester green sweater is sublime), but I can't carry them off so will admire on others instead. And I agree - some of them are just awful!

  5. I will admit I do like them on you ..... but would not have the "confidence?" to wear myself!

  6. I did find myself quite liking the swallow one, oh and the Alexander mcQueen sweater but only it the cat wasn't there... Somehow these motifs would be more acceptable to me as a graphic tee - don't get that!
Your Stella McCartney one is great on you, it is maybe a question of having the confidence that you look great that makes the difference.

    2. Sorry....
Must be early onset of dementia, the AMcQ one is with the swallow, the other one is the pink Miss Selfridge with red cuffs and striped hem (I just triple checked that!).

  7. Your Stella one is nice and I like the dog one (not enough to wear it but I think it's cute). Other than that, no. My animal remains in print format rather than whole.

  9. Love a lot of these but not sure I'd actually wear them. Got the H&M one and it was massive (unlike their jeans) so have exchanged it for smaller but still not sure I'm brave enough! I need your slightly more glamorous location :D xx PS I know this is ultra nosey but is it an old house you live in? I've been smelling those Brown and Drury candles and wondered if they need a certain type of setting!! xx

    1. It is on the large side, isn't it? Yes I do live in an old house! But the inside is quite modern... it's all black and white and grey... Which B&D candle did you mean?

    2. I've taken the plunge and ordered the Tudor one and the 1681 Pomegranate one :-) No imagination of my own ;-) Which obviously makes them both Tudor-ey and wondered if I needed a ye olde worlde Tudor barn to appreciate them in :D

    3. Ha ha - no, the Tudor one is definitely a modern take on Tudor! And the 1681 is simply sublime. A warm, spicy scent without bring musty or musky - I promise!

  10. I would urge anyone to get the H and M one - its so snuggly and lovely. I got a S and its just big in a nice way. As for the rest of them they remind me of Dolored Umbridge in Harry Potter - step away from them grown up women!!!

  11. I was going to say the kittens reminded me of Dolores Umbridge too! Not good. I love the McQ one and the Stella one *champagne taste* :).

  12. The cutey ones makes me vom in my
mouth and your H&M one I thought was horrible and needed to be sent back to the 80's when I first saw it BUT now that I've seen you in it on your feed over the last week I bloody love it and want it!! Sheep? moi? 😳😊
